I suspect that the prosecution was able to talk to the jury and found that the majority would have found him not guilty.
They did talk to the jury which was 5-1 for acquittal. It was not an ethnic decision; this Arizona county is 83 percent Hispanic and they didn’t buy the BS from the prosecutor. God Bless this Rancher who stood up to the liars, cheats and mountebanks in the Deep State.

Not a majority decision. One holdout either way deadlocks the jury.
