"is it possible"

Sure is - that is one of our jobs already. Often we don't see the new (or later higher) thread until after it has been there for a time. But rest assured, I remove older ones as soon as I see the new ones. Trouble is, I only look every 10 to 15 minutes - sometimes more. Got too many other things going.

Sometimes there are fewer moderators on than at other times, that also contributes to older multi-thread posts not being seen and removed. I would like to see the poster have the ability to remove his own posts from the sidebars if he sees the need to do so. That may come one day.

Thanks for answering. I have "Breaking News" issues...I like to keep that area nice and clean myself.

Thanks again.

I have been here on an off from near the beginning, between serious personal commitments, and honest-to-God exhaustion at dealing with the brutal thrust of our opposition, and FR has been not only my primary source of news and cross-fired public opionion, but my dearest outlet whenever I had to simply "get it off my chest", as it were. And I'm thankful for that.

So whether it makes any difference what I personally believe, or not, I support the effort at hand for back end moderation and relief for JimRob.

That need was made fairly plain to me as early as the DC impeachment rally, where loyal Freepers manned the threads until they were exhausted, while JimRob was away. The disruption was so vicious that virtually no serious discussion was possible. There's not only no question in my mind that moderators are desirable, but plainly necessary.

And in spite of the incredible effort at disruption, whether by possible payrolled facilitators, ideology dupes, or simply digruntled maniacs, somehow FR survives.

Thanks, Admin Moderator, and to the rest of the crew. I'm sure JimRob has done his best to insure a fair minded group. God knows the rest of the world of communications, the media in particular, has their share of highly paid disinformation specialists, to more than counter any unfair possibility here at FR.
