Iraq claims to have shot down a US spy plane
AFP | 9/11

BAGHDAD, Sept 11 (AFP) - Iraqi anti-aircraft forces shot down a US spy plane Tuesday near the southern port city of Basra, the official Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported. "Iraqi anti-aircraft fire in the region of Basra on Tuesday brought down an American spy plane," INA said.

If confirmed, it will be the second drone Iraq has downed since August 27, and only the second allied aircraft casualty since the 1991 Gulf War.

We should have gone ahead and killed those Chinese who were helping them upgrade their equipment.

If they did, I feel sorry for the pilot ad his/her family.
Will the Whitehouse let us know for sure, or are they going to pull a Clinton and tell the "sheeple" only what they NEED to know?

Ain't technology great? Now we can just send UAV's over there, and not waste our precious pilots. The wonders of science.

Back to the drawing boards- These things don't work against an armed enemy.

Do we have any unarmed enemies?

Not anymore, Bert. The Clinton Democrats worked hard and armed them all in exchange for campaign donations.

Here's a thread from the first shoot down that deteriorated rapidly as it went on.

Does this mean that the first 'aircraft casualty' was drone #1? If these things were loaded with chemical weapons that go splat on impact, would that be considered a war crime? Hmmm, that wouldn't be good... Saddam would be encouraged to shoot them down. He'd be like a kid in a candy store. Maybe they could be loaded with paint balls. It would make for pretty satellite images of the crash sites.

Hmm, Iraq shoots down a US drone aircraft just before the events of 9/11. The plane was shot down on Tuesday. 9/11 was on Tuesday.
