President Bush: "Freedom will be defended."
During ABC live coverage, the smarmy, sanctimoneous, Canadian transplant anchor Peter Jennings, after President Bush declared that freedom will be defended, made a wisecrack like "Well, it wasn't defended today." The bastard.</font size>
From another thread even worse remarks were attributed to Brian Williams and Tim Russert. In a situation like this it is not overreaching, IMO, to consider statements like these as tantamount to treason. Perhaps they will redeem themselves as soon as they have had a chance to reflect on the magnitude of todays events. In any case I hope that we will all keep a record of these kinds of remarks and when other greater priorities have been addressed their actions will be held up to the light and accounted for.
