Bin Laden link name found on passenger list

Investigators checking the passenger list of the four hijacked jet planes have found the name of a supporter of Osama bin Laden on one of them.

Five Arab men - one of them a pilot - have been identified as suspects, the Boston Herald reports.

Police have seized a rented car containing Arabic-language flight training manuals at Logan International Airport, a source told the newspaper.

Two of the men were brothers whose passports were traced to the United Arab Emirates.

One of the men was a trained pilot, the paper reports.

The paper says investigators suspect the two brothers were aboard hijacked United Airlines flight 175, which crashed into the World Trade Centre.

At least two other suspects flew to Logan yesterday from Maine, where authorities believe they had travelled after crossing over from Canada recently, the Herald reports.

Police were told about the rented car by a civilian who got into a fight with several Arab men as they were parking their car, the paper reported.

You'd think they'd be smart enough not to leave behind incriminating evidence. The criminal mind... Oh well we're catching a couple of lucky breaks and it seems to me that while we'll never have absolute proof Osama bin Laden orchestrated the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, we'll be able to say the evidence is going to be pretty persuasive. That's all we'll need to get the nutso to punch his time card and then its simply a matter of when. And sending him to hell is a unique American speciality. Before he took on the United States he should have read about the fate of the guy who planned Pearl Harbor... No matter the die's been cast.

A connection at last? I'd like to think it's a start. I don't believe for a second that Americans are going to be content until we're forced to re-write certain maps of the Middle-East due to American retribution. I don't want to discuss "should we blame terrorist-supporting states?" I want to hear "We'd blame terrorist-supporting states if there were any left we haven't nuked." The people who bombed the WTC a few years ago were caught when they tried to get back their $100 deposit for the rental car they used as a car bomb.

If this isn't a wake-up call for border control and national security, I don't know what it is going to take. Thousands of illegal and documented Arab aliens need tracked down and sent back to their original countries. We are not in a foreign war. This is an internal war in every respect and must be won within our country.

This story says gives no reason or evidence for their assertion that these guys had links to Bin Laden. It's an empty assertion but it fits everyones suspicions.

The tail of a snake won't hurt ya, it's the head. I say forget who was here and did what. I'm of the opinion that we need to "blindly" and with violence and pain ,...."hit" any "known" terrorist organization today just for a sort of "no were here and to all other cities , towns and countries that would harbor such individuals we will destroy you, your families and your your ability to continue to work ,play and or sustain any infastructure of commerce in your country.

Peer pressure will force these rats to the surface and into the light when we blast entire cities and areas that supported the individuals who plan, partake and initiate thes attacks on CONUS America......Just my thoughts, Stay Safe.

Your words are mine, Squantos. The perpetraitors and those in their camps are willing to accept the price of their own lives for the promise of reward for their misguided beliefs. So, America must extract from them a price which they are unwilling to pay; the lives of their families, their homes, their way of life. I agree. Any and all terrorist organizations should be targets. Not just the masterminds of the 9/11 dastardly deeds.

Sureal is the word I sought........ The simplicity of this op is so KISS in it's execution that planners just have to be going absolutly stark raving mad as to how they could have prevented such.

FAA and chicken little society can ban knives of all makes and models yet a knowledgeable tango will just use one of the hinges on a brief case as a shank to do it again, or parts of a compact unbrella to make a stabbing weapon.

IMHO quick fix is Air Marshal per El Al SOP with AC mods/retrofits to include a ballistic wall /door to the cockpit to prevent entry.

This is just the saddest event I have witnessed in America and the type of attack we have seen IMHO is just not predictable/detectable as any individual who buys a ticket can be a member of a team willing to die.
