You guys are going to have to do a better job of explaining what you mean. It's easy to complain but can you come up with the hard and fast rules that your foreign policy would follow?
What do you mean? No allies? No foreign aid? No treaties? No trade?
Answer me this: say we didn't give foreign/military aid to Israel. Say we didn't do some things that made it easier for demagogs to link the US with Israel.
But also say that we continued to trade with them, let private citizens invest there, etc. IMHO, that alone would, in Arabs eyes, link us with Israel, because of our large economy. We would still be the enemy. Our problems in this area would still exist.
So what do you say to this? How would your foreign policy respond to situations like this? Do we avoid trade and contact with other states that might have enemies? Do we not trade at all? What?
Now, I'm not saying that I have the one and all time definitve answer to this any any other difficult issue that this country faces. But I don't you think you have a good enough answer either. Attempts to do what you think you want to do would cause lots of unforseen problems for us and others. And even if this policy of non-intervention had been implemented long ago, it is not certain that it would not have resulted in either a world or a United States that is better off now, and would have likely meant plenty of fudging away from your ideological straitjacket along the way.
