I only have time for a brief reply. I don't know of an order, just a subpoena. Ashcroft should comply with the subpoena and produce the documents. He should want Burton to have them. If there are any documents which would truly compromise a legitimate, ongoing investigation, he should tell Burton and let Burton review the douments without getting copies (or work something else out). Burton is a reasonable, trustworthy man. There is no reason to keep anything from him.
