I read this before but thanks for reposting it. Why hasn't this been given any play by the press? Has this been debunked? If true, a declaration of war against the nation of Afghanistan is merited! No Question...

I missed it the first time around. Wow. Now, when their ruler says that they took all communication away from him and he couldn't have coordinated the attack, that has to be a lie. How many Commander-in-Chiefs would not have any way to communicate with their troops?

"Pseudo-religious values are being used as a cover to prepare a bridgehead for expansion of militant extremism and separatism far beyond the region's borders," added the statement. Is it just me, or does this remind anyone else of Adolf Hitler? The only difference is that propaganda is not being used to take over territories and increase power -- instead, it's to exact revenge per their fatwa against the U.S.

As a public employee, I am a representative of government. If I were to hold up the Quran and teach it to my class, the state gets sued... not for ME pushing a particular religion, but for the STATE pushing a religion.
Afghanistan has attacked and killed thousands (5000+ confirmed) of our citizens. Declare war now, use bases in India and Israel as starting points, annex their oil fields, and use their homelands as a base of operations for the destruction of all terrorist camps, organizations, and bases, and to exterminate any nation that would give them aid and comfort from this day forward.

Imagine what would happen if it was found out that Rumsfeld was secretly funding a private army that went around the world killing innocent people. I venture a guess that there would not be a country that would not stand against us, and there are countries that would take the opportunity to unleash their weapons of mass destruction with impunity from international scorn.
I don't personally see why the reaction against Afghanistan should be any different.

This article may indicate that Osa Bin Laden may not be a puppeteer who is pulling strings on a terrorist network.
It may be that Bin Laden is more of a puppet, a symbol, and a funding source who is being used as a front for state directed terrorism.
It may be that Bin Laden is providing some financing and the Afghans are providing him shelter, but I think Islamic fundamentalists in Egypt, Yemen, and UAE may be providing both the brains and the human resources necessary to prosecute this terrorist war on the United States.
And although I could give a whit what happens to the Taliban and Bin Laden, I think we will only be successful if we can identify and take down the terrorists on the ground in the Arabian Penisula as well as in Egypt.
The acts of war perpetrated against us did not emanate from a buffoon in a cave nor from a primitive and fanatical country.
Look to where the suicide bombers were grown if we want to prosecute an effective war against terrorism.

14:40 2001-08-01 OSAMA BIN LADEN TO LEAD TALIBAN MILITARY OPERATIONS
From From Pravda(Yeah, I know).
Citing high-ranking Afghan sources, the Pakistani newspaper, Nation, has reported that the Taliban have appointed two international terrorists, Osama bin Laden and Juma Namangani, to lead military operations against the Northern Alliance.
According to the paper's information, the Taliban leadership has de facto appointed terrorist no.1, bin Laden, as defence minister. He is currently organising offensives from his secret hide-out.
Another terrorist, the Uzbek Juma Namangani, has become bin Laden's assistant, carrying out his orders on the northern front.
In the paper's opinion, the new appointments will increase the role of Arab, Pakistani and other foreign mercenaries fighting for the Taliban and could lead to new groups of religious fanatics entering Afghanistan. According to Nation's information, up to 60,000

I think this is good news. This makes him and his thugs legitimate military targets.
And I wonder why all those whining about not knowing GW's location on Tuesday don't say anything about bin Laden being in HIDING for the last five years?
