According to the Koran, Adam takes the forbidden fruit, unlike in Christianity and judaism, where Eve is the sinner, Women are not looked down upon in Islam, they have equal rights as men, but they have to be modest in dress, which seems to bother the westerners the most. I dont mean taliban mandated burqas, Islam only states that the women is to be covered past her elbows and past the ankles, which is no problem for me, because i wear jeans and long sleeved shirts, or dresses. as a muslim woman, i believe it is for my own protection, I have no desire to wear bikinis or mini skirts, because I think it is out of disrespect that a man, other then my husband, will stare at my almost naked body, and it can cause unwanted attention.
