Realty? You obviously have no idea what realty is. War is ugly, filthy and disgusting. Maintaining troops who actually have to be in the thick of it, who have to smell it, touch it, and aggressively persue it, can not be effectively accomplished in a civil manner. The language used by Patton in the above speech, though outlawed in todays Army, is the kind of language that encourages the most vicious animal instincts necessary to drive troops forward. The fact that Patton made mistakes has little to do with the necessity of preparing and maintaining troops at such readyness.
The current feminization programs going on in today's army, are ill preparing soldiers for the realty they may very well have to face. Part Patton's success was definitely as a motivator. Regardless of other errors or successes he may have had, this one attribute of his, is now unlawful, and missing in todays army. Realty necessitates its return.
