This is a welcome post. Thank you so much for speaking what needed to be said. I expect the days ahead will find a bond among Americans that we've not seen for a very long time. God bless America and give strength to her sons and daughters who stand ready to defend her.
To: Jaxter
I think you missed the point of my post. Is there a good reason for readers on this forum to be less informed when military details are currently being published in major media. I asked the question...is this disinformation? Did you even read the url I posted?
To: jjbrouwer
Actually, it was a joke. Sorry you didn't get it. Then friend, you are in bad need of a humor transplant.
To: Arator
I can only conclude from these quotes that anyt posts which do not parrot the official war party line will be censored. This is fascism, pure and simple. It's a Nazi-like culture. This is not America as I understand America. This is private property. It's not a democracy. You don't get a vote. If Jim wants to "censor" any posts that contain the letter "e" it's his prerogative.
And this AIN'T America. It's a website. You can blather all you want on the street corners and in the bars with the rest of the Lazy Boy generals, but on this site, Jim makes the rules.
If you find it so repugnant, leave. Otherwise, be a good boy and shut your whine hole.

We say humoUr where I come from.
To: Ms Mellie
Yes. I checked out the url, although it was rather tedious cutting and pasting. What exactly does it have to do with Jim Rob's request that people not post specfic data about troop movements and other things that might help our enemies? Are you saying that because the Brit's don't care about security we shouldn't either? What is your point?

Thank you Jim for a patriotic, true American, stance. You are what has made FreeRepublic what it is and this stand shows exactly why - you are a true American.

A friend of mine who was part of a bomber crew until she retired recently for medical problems wishes she were already in the air over the Middle East.

Let's put a face on this. This is VERY personal to me and my son's MOS puts him directly in any desert operation. There are many freepers here that are either personally at risk or have sons and daughters that are in the same situation. So no, I am not in a joking mood.

Thank you. Indeed, our priorities have changed since war was declared on us. Those of us who have never before been in "wartime" have some changing to do, and for the good of our country we certainly will.

Firstly, Ms Mellie, there was nothing tedious about cutting and pasting your URL. Thank you for the information.
Secondly, Jaxter, your assertion that we Brits don't care about security rings rather hollow after you let a series of nutters on to your planes. Hopefully in the future you will be more careful.
To: Jaxter
My point is that I thought this forum used to be a good source of links to news items. This "cloak-and-dagger" posturing by keyboard warriors just looks silly when troop movement information is in the general domain (but not here). But hey, I know it's not my forum, but I thought I was allowed to make an observation. I'm sorry if I offended you.
To: Jim Robinson
Thanks! Agreed. Former Infantryman. OPSEC is paramount.

Ms M, why do you care if you offended this character? Judging from his posts he is an idiot.

"Secondly, Jaxter, your assertion that we Brits don't care about security rings rather hollow after you let a series of nutters on to your planes. Hopefully in the future you will be more careful." Then I'd suggest to you Brits that until you shed blood, you ain't got nothing in this conversation but your nose. Until then, why don't you hunker down until you need our help against some real world power like the Argentines? We've already bailed your candyasses out enough.

Gee, folks, can we get Jim Robinson to run for Governor or Senator in California?
I have tremendous respect for him.
God bless you, Jim Robinson.
If you get to heaven before me, Jim Robinson, try and pull a few strings with some of your new friends up there, as I may need the help.

Quote of the Day by Guillam
I am putting together a collection of political Editorial Cartoons since the Terrorist Attack Tuesday. I am not looking for links to them on the Web somewhere, I am looking for cartoons you have posted or intend to post. They must be posted on FR to be eligible. Five me a pong if you run across one on a thread. (My typing error made me laugh, so I left it.)};^D)

I believe it is you who owes us. But I shall forgive your ignorance.
To: Jim Robinson
Thanks for you post Jim. I pray that we can sustain our resolve until the scourge of terrorism is defeated.
Many different people that live in America are from ethnic groups that have originating homelands that are either minority or majority muslim in nature, but the vast majority of these people support America. In addition to your points about pulling together and being mindful of sensitve information, I hope that Free Republic will continue to encourage posters to judge all people living in America as individuals and be very careful to monitor posts that offer blanket generalizations about Americans that may have come from a muslim nation.
