SPECIAL EDITION

The President continued high-level meetings today to discuss strategy for Operation Noble Eagle. The Bush Administration continues it's message that those 'evil doer' who are responsible, and those that harbor them, will be brought to justice. Meanwhile, the nation continues to mourn and to also overwhelmingly rally their voices and hearts behind the President and this great nation.

I agree with you, nothing is guaranteed in this world, only what the Lord has promised us. We must give thanks to the Lord and ask him to guide this President through these troubled waters. And considering this is the first President in a long time who openly gives thanks to the Lord, is very comforting.

Well, I do not think things will go well all the time. Britt Hume said tonight that just like any war, things will go wrong, material will be defective, people will goof up, mistakes will be made.

But Brit also felt that we, as a nation, had the resolve to persevere. Something has changed in the country.

Also, I pray for the President daily, and I encourage everyone to do so. Pray for his protection and for wisdom, for his family and those who work witih him. That is what he has requested. God honors those who honor him..that is a promise from Psalm 91.

So, I rest in the promises of God, and I am quietly confident that President Bush, with God's help, will lead us to victory.

I agree about Mary Matalin. I was so worried about her safety; if anything were to happen to her, her two precious daughters would have to be raised by CARVILLE. Mary, stay safe.

I did not see that interview with the retired firefighter. Wish I had...I loved him the moment I saw him on t.v. and in subsequent pictures. He just looked so proud of W and so happy to be with him. And he also typifies America, hardworking, weathered looking in his bluejeans, probably not Levi's. Thanks for sharing - now we know "the rest of the story".

QUOTE OF THE DAY "When I take action, I'm not going to fire a $2 million missile at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt. It's going to be decisive."

Thanks for posting the quote rintense, I must have missed hearing it and now that I have read it, it made my day.

GOD Bless President Bush and GOD Bless America.

Operation Noble Eagle.

I was driving home from church today when this title hit me. "Operation Noble Eagle" I almost stopped in the middle of traffic because I was so stunned with the title of this endeavor.

Have any of you read the "Left Behind" series about the rapture and what ensues after that. One of the happenings in the series is "Operation Eagle."

That quote of the President should end up on the quote of the week thread! It is by far the best thing I have heard in awhile! A little levity was refreshing, although he means it! What a guy, just a down home honest man!
Hope everyone saw Dick Cheney on Meet the Press this morning. I was even more impressed if that is possible with this man. He gave really honest answers, something so rare in Politicans. No spin, just straight forward answers. Fantastic interview.

All I could think of when I saw the President and his magnificent Cabinet yesterday sitting around the table is how frightened...

How frightened those terrorists are. Bush will probably go slow on an attack just to make them sweat it out. They'll sneak a look out that tent - look both ways and say "yeah, I can go out for awhile. That idiot don't know what he is doing". Then bam!!!

Matalin

Saw an interview with Cheney today and he mentioned her and said she works for me. He went on to talk about how the Secret Service men suddenly appeared in his office. He said you know they don't use the pleasantries, they just barge in and say Mr. Vice President we need to leave now. Then they get me by each arm and we leave - my feet touched the floor a few times. (paraphrased)

The picture of that exit had me chuckling a few times.

Has anyone seen Mary Matlin lately?

She is in one of the photos on this thread with Cheney in the bunker. She is standing up. Post #6 in a blue suit.

To: rintense - and Cheney follows suit
I watched Timmy Russert ask Cheney, in rephrasing what Cheney said, if he was saying he would take bin Laden's head on a platter, and Cheney said, "I'd take it today."

Cheney is a national treasure. He tells the truth, insofar as the limits of national security allow, he is blunt but not nasty, uses his wonderful wit, and doesn't shy away from the facts of war. I cannot imagine it even entering algorelione's mind to declare war on terrorism after September 11's tragic events. I can see him fumbling around for ways to say he commiserates with the thousands of people whose lives were affected, etc., and then working with the airport security guys to try to devise some way to make hijackers not able to hijack. He would make sure Congress threw lots of money at the problem, especially to the families. And then he'd sit in his office and wait for the next attack, and be oh so surprised when it came.

In your face, IMPEACHED ex-42 and your ugly sinator wife!

Someone on another thread suggested we write to blubba to let him know how we truly felt about him showing up in NY before the real president, and gave his address, as follows:

Ex-president Scumbag
City Street
New York City, NY zip

I thought that summed it up really well. Ex-president Scumbag. Hehehe

Drudge just reported on his radio program that the Bush FAMILY has been targeted, and that this is why the twins were not at the National Cathedral on Friday.

I cannot think of anything that would rouse this president to action more dramatically than that. I don't mean to imply he takes his own family any more seriously than any other person takes his family, or that he believes his family is more important than others, but that he feels the responsibility to protect his daughters personally, as any parent would, and in a case like this, he knows the only reason they, and his wife, would be targeted is because of the job he holds. So if the terrorists wanted to really rouse W to act, that would be the kicker.

I don't know for sure how to post a link

You did such a great job learning how to post a photo that I know you'll be glad to tuck this info into your FR HTML toolkit!

1. Copy the URL you need.
2. In the "Reply" window, type this:
Type in any name for the link, or paste it here

Everything between the quote marks should be simply the URL that you need. If you got all the text correct, when you hit Preview the link will be in color and have an underline to it. Like this:
ohioWfan's link
Always click on the link while you are in Preview, to make sure you are linking to the source you want,
then click your browser's Back button
and hit Post. =)

Anyone else notice the last person Hillary hugged at the National Cathedral Prayer Service was her "better half."

I did notice that, and I rewound the tape and played it in slow motion because I wanted to see what these three people's interaction was really like. It was heart-rending to watch Chelsea's eyes after her mother embraced her. Hillary kept her eyes lowered, moved in an unobliging, duty-filled manner toward her husband, whom she had just walked past to hug her daughter, and kept her eyes down as she gave bill her cheek and ear. They sort of embraced, and Chelsea was watching their heads to see what kind of interaction was going on -- to me it seemed she was looking for how much grief they were likely to give each other if left alone in a room, and then Chelsea sprouted a look of dejected resignation, lowered her eyes, and sat down.

I think Chelsea has spent her whole life, even before the age of reason, trying to be invisible when she is in the presence of both parents. I suspect she has stuffed a truckload of pain and resentment.

Yes, I made that connection too. The next book in the series was tenatively titled, 'Operation Eagle', but the title is now 'Desecration'.
