Did any of you folks have to suffer through the horror of seeing or hearing today's "A Day Of Remembrance" in San Francisco? It should have been named "A Day Of Terminally Dense Idiots Blaming Everyone Else Except The Terrorists" for the atrocities committed against America on 9/11/01. If this event was meant to remember the victims of this crime, it failed miserably.
I am thoroughly disgusted at some of the speakers' total disregard of "reality" as to why this horrific attack has occurred. The letters to the editor contained in all of the SF bay area's newspapers immediately following this senseless act of violence, should have clued me in to how this event was going to unfold.
The Reality of 9/11/01? I don't think it happened because the US pulled out of the UN conference on racism as one speaker claimed.
Reality Check! The UN conference itself turned into a racist event because of countries attending (who are themselves racist) hypocritically screaming racism at the other countries.
And Tuesday didn't happen because the US would not sign the Kyoto Accords as was also implied.
Reality Check Again! In truth, only one of the European countries signed it, yet all of Europe and our own U.S. media whined and complained because the US wouldn't sign it. And none of those European countries were attacked.
No, neither of those two events caused the deaths of thousands of innocent American lives on 9/11/01 as Minister Amos Brown had incredulously "ranted" at the audience today. And like good little tree hugging socialists, the crowd including "Da Mayor" Willie Brown, Senator Feinstein, Rep Pelosi, and a slew of other well know Socialist Democrats wildly cheered back at him in return . And anytime a speaker mentioned justice or punishment for the true perpetrators of the act, the response from the audience was mild applause, or even NONE at all. Simply amazing.
Do any of these people realize or admit that this attack was planned years before either of these other two events had even occurred? Well hey! Why let the facts get in the way of someone's preconceived notion of reality?
So there I sat today, with my head hung in shame, and my mouth on the floor. Feeling like some kind of Alien who had just crash landed on another world, as the words born of blind ignorance and partisan political ideology that were spoken by my fellow bay area citizens, echoed across the state through millions of TV sets, and mercilessly hammered at my heart and soul.
I just wanted to scream, NEWS FLASH YOU IDIOTS! America was attacked because a bunch of religious fanatics disagree with us. No more, no less. Yet these killers greedily accept millions of US dollars in foreign aid (Thanks Democrats and "moderate" Republicans), and hold us all hostage with their oil supplies (Drill In Alaska? God No!). All of the excuses given today at this "event" are completely ignorant of reality.
I think it's high time (no pun intended) that these people learned how to deal with "reality" instead of ignore it... which they do because ignoring the cold hard truth somehow makes them "feel" better.
The hard cold reality of this terrible situation is, TERRORIST CANNOT BE REASONED WITH! The bay area needs to deal with that reality. Or else they choose to live in ignorance AND terror, as those evil terrorist hope and pray the bay area will choose to do.
And as for one Mr. Jones' closing advice to the huge gathering (which was broadcast on every local television and radio station) to "forget" what happened Tuesday. (Yes, incredibly he said to "forget it.") No sir, I choose not to forget anything. For those who forget, will NEVER.... EVER.... LEARN.
