Probably one of the better analysis on the underlying issues in the public domain. We would love to go in an dbomb them back to the stone age, but they are already there. As the text points out, they have to be hit where they can be hurt and that is not by just redoing what the Soviets tried for 10 long years.

Thanks for the heads up Joe. It is a very thoughtful analysis. we are in WWIII right now even if we do not all fully understand it. No matter what we do in Afganistan or anyplace else it will breed more terrorists to attack the USA and everyplace else that shares the Western culture. The one thing that may wind up saving us from also dealing with Russia as an enemy is the fact that Russians as a whole hate the Moslem world more than we do.

The question there and in China will be can we use this conflict to better ourselves. I do not know the answer to that but I predict we will eventually find out.
