Anyone read the book, "Rainbow Six" by Tom Clancy? In this book, an ex-Navy SEAL, believing that violent, deadly force to be the best deterrent for terrorism creates an England-based organization code-named "Rainbow." Its mission: deploy an elite squad of American operatives combined with handpicked British, French, and German agents to stop terrorism in its tracks.
Forget soft retaliation methods. It's time to fight fire with fire!! We need a "Rainbow Six" type organization to methodically kill terrorists.
Call for Mr Chavez... Mr Ding Chavez... you have a call.
Who gets to determine who a terrorist is?
What definition of terrorist do they use?
How to you keep this type of operation from morphing into a political hit squad?
just one question.....
Who get's to decide who is a "terrorist" and who is a 'friendly agent' simply running with a bad crowd?
If my friends and I help the Rainbow team with information and we only blow up Macedonian buildings do we get killed? or do we get paid?
Y'know what I mean?
I think President Bush has the right idea. We need a multi-national coalition, but with only two primary activities: (1) Intelligence and (2) Execution (the Rainbow "hammer"). Once intelligence is gathered, Rainbow takes out those that are responsible behind the scenes. No warning... we just occasionally hear terrorists dying on the news.
We all need to act like responsible, free Americans.
We need to be prepared to defend ourselves and our fellow American people.
What the terrorists are counting on is us depending on some "terrorist strike force" from the government(s). Then, we will be passive and cooperative, waiting for 'the authorities' to respond when the terrorists strike.
We all need to become "a militia of one" and defend ourselves, our fellow Americans and our nation.
Anything less will embolden the terrorists.
Relying on the government is a recipe for disaster. The government types know that we need periodic "reminders" as to why we've given up our freedom and why their operations are necessary. They will allow these "reminders" to happen because if they don't, they will be unnecessary and irrelevant.
My first Clancy book was not "Hunt For Red October", but rather his second book "Red Storm Rising."
In "Red Storm Rising" he describes a Soviet attack on Europe with the ultimate goal of capturing the oilfields of the Middle East. In one scene describing the opening stages of the conflict, Clancy has a super secret American Fighter-Bomber flying at night, invisible to radar, bombing supply lines and fuel bunkers deep behind Soviet lines.
I remember thinking to myself "right, a super secret plane that is invisible to radar, what total bunk!" It was only a couple of years later that the Air Force revealed the F-117's existance. The only thing Clancy got wrong was the Aircraft designation number!
Not sure what you're suggesting. I mean I have a 12 guage shotgun at home and wouldn't hesitate to use it if a terrorist showed up at my doorstep. How do you suggest we, as ordinary American citizens, combat terrorism?I'm not so sure I have the answer here. I'm just certain that nobody in the Congress or in other leadership positions or in the media will come up with it either. I'm certain that everything that's been proposed so far will make matters worse, not better. Especially things like increased airport "security," and giving up some liberties to make the world a safer place.
The ultimate solution is one of education and culture.
You're a gun owner, you have at least some rudimentary understanding of how things are supposed to work if our founders intentions had been followed. Let me ask you a question. Are you a member of a militia?
How about your neighbors? Are they members of a militia? Do they own guns and know how to use them? How would they answer the question "are you a member of a miltia?" I'm especially curious as to how your unarmed neighbors, the ones who don't own any guns, would answer that question.
I'll post more later. But please try to post an answer to my questions.
