TO ANYONE READING THIS WHO IS/WAS IN CIA DIRECTORATE OF OPERATIONS:
I have my CIA resume prep guide. I am planning on mailing my resume very soon.
Please tell me what "magic words" the ops people and their computer scanners are looking for.
Please also tell me what words I must not use.
Must I be politically correct, or can I give them my racial background?
You can freepmail me if you want to.
THANKS! and Eagles UP!
Good luck in your job search.
That should nail it for you.
"washingtonpost.com: In your article on the CIA, aside from the advertising campaign you mention what other steps is the agency taking to increase diversity?
Vernon Loeb: Beyond the ad campaign, I think the agency is spending a lot more time and money on recruiting, and it is trying to use existing agency personnel in their recruiting efforts. So an actual analyst from the Directorate of Intelligence will go with recruiting teams to college campuses, and actual spies will help pitch prospective recruits on joining the Clandestine Service. Jim Pavitt, the CIA's deputy director for operations, told me that it is no accident that his current recruiting director is an African American female. And, as I mentioned in the article, Donald Cryer, operations officers, has become special assistant for diversity programs to CIA Director George J. Tenet. "
Of course, the CIA might be interested in more important qualities now that Clinton is out.
"I think it's fair to say that a Bush administration would be considerably more amenable to implementing most of what the commission wants than a Gore administration. Many of the most controversial recommendations have already been rejected by the Clinton administration. Secretary of State Albright has said she does not contemplate sanctions against either Greece or Pakistan, as the commission suggested. And the CIA has said that it does not plan to rescind any portion of regulations governing the recruitment of "unsavory" sources that were implemented by former CIA director John M. Deutch in 1995. "
I believe this has been changed, so one might no longer get points for refusing to spy on bad people any more.
