New York goalie Dan Blackburn nervously skated back and forth along his goal line.

This is probably a false statement. During long interruptions in a hockey game, many goalies do not like to stand still in their crease because they don't want their skates to make ruts in the ice that might interfere with their movement when play resumes.

Just a thought. Call me the FreeRepublic Hockey Expert. LOL!

I was across the street at the Phils' game tonight, and the patriotism was something to behold. God Bless America and Philadelphia.

Thanks for the post. I am not a professional sports fan and probably would not have seen this story--but I am sure glad I did.

A good story, considering its source.

Wow! I never thought I'd see the day professional sports would stop for any reason, least of all 20,000 fans demanding to stop a game for a political speech. Could it be that some may finally realize that sports isn't the most important thing on earth and that ATHLETES AREN'T HEROES.
