Clinton Haunted by Failure to Get bin Laden

Acting like a man who knows he has much to answer for, ex-president Bill Clinton is seeking out anyone and everyone who will listen to explain that the World Trade Center disaster that killed 7,000 Americans wasn't his fault.

After telling Fox News Channel's Brian Kilmeade, NBC's Tom Brokaw and countless private audiences over the last two weeks that he did everything he could to nail prime suspect Osama bin Laden, Clinton has taken to accosting total strangers on the street to offer his excuses.

One such New Yorker is Saul Finkelstein, who says he was corralled by the suddenly guilt-ridden ex-prez Saturday while out for a bike ride with his sons.

For a full 15 minutes the ex-Commander-in-Chief unburdened himself to Finkelstein, who reported the episode to the Washington Post's Lloyd Grove.

"In 1998, the U.S. Navy launched a series of cruise missile attacks," Clinton insisted to the stranger. "We missed him by an hour."

He seemed to want the passerby to understand that if President Bush succeeds where he failed, it won't be because Bush tried any harder.

"The president can't say this," Clinton reportedly explained, "but it will not be that difficult to get bin Laden [today] because unlike in 1998.... the U.S. will have the cooperation of surrounding countries."

By comparison, he said, his task was more difficult because he had to "fight this guy from 1,000 miles away."

The bottom line, Finkelstein said, was that Clinton wanted him to understand that "what happened on Sept. 11 could in no way be traced to some failure on his administration's part."

Harsh????

Man, you ARE a newbie, aren't you.

This thread is downright gentle on the Disgraced, Impeached, Rapist, Treasonous, (ex) POTUS

formerly referred to on this forum as DIRTPOTUS.

Now he is just x42 and is considered to be as relevant, useful and valuable as a used condom floating in a septic tank.

He will never be forgiven for the damage he did to America. We will never forget that this is the guy who ate pizza and got a blow-job while discussing the deployment of troops in the Balkins. We will never forget his lies, his treason or his immorality.

If you are looking for sympathy for that pile of buzzard puke, you have come to the wrong shop.

Gee... Anyone think I am being harsh here?

I just saw that movie again a few nights ago...it's one of my favorites...the difference between Terry (Brando) and Clinton is one of loyalty and courage...Terry was capable of greatness but he took the fall for his brother Charlie...Clinton is not capable of greatness... he is an egocentric jerk who confused his celebrity status with genuine admiration...when confronted with a choice Terry chooses to stand up for justice and risks everything...Clinton never stood up for anything....he spent his final weeks in the White House getting kickbacks for pardons, stealing furniture, and letting the dead on the USS Cole down...he's scum...no redemption there...he doesn't have the moral fabric to be heroic IMHO.

Hi, Ronnie! We will leave him alone when he goes away, permanently. The nerve of the man shoving himself in front of every camera when the current administration is performing a job more complicated than brain surgery. I hate him. Our President works to unite. Clinton works to divide. The etiquette books never covered someone like Clinton because no past President has ever behaved in such a selfish way. Clinton, Jackson, and Kofi can all move to Zimbabwe and hold hands. Just leave us alone!

Clinton never stood up for anything

There are dead guys being dug out of a Pennsylvania cornfield who did more to stand up for America than the POTUS of the nineties. They were Americans defending America. x42 sometimes made us wonder what country he considered his own.

I pray that I outlive him so I can urinate on his grave.

And you thought the line at the DMV was long... the line forms wa-a-a-a-a-a-a-y back there ------>>>>.

Kennedy got an eternal flame on his grave, Clinton will have an eternal puddle of urine.

If clinton shambled up to you on the street somewhere to give you his spiel & you said "get away from me president pantload". Would he be able to do anything to you? Since he is a private citizen has he lost that power?

from the article......

"He said that 'the president can't say this, but' it will not be that difficult to get bin Laden [today] because unlike in 1998 . . . the U.S. will have the cooperation of surrounding countries and 'you can't fight this guy from 1,000 miles away.' " Clinton added that getting rid of bin Laden is only a start: "If you took Sammy Sosa off the Cubs, they would still win a lot of games."..........

snort, snort, snort, snort........The visual is killing me...President Bush will succeed because he has help....noboby helped bubba. snort, snort, snort!!!

BTW, what is the Cubs record this year? Are they winning?

I'll bet Slick wishes now that he had returned just a little of that Red Chinese money for a hit on bin Laden.

The face of guilt:

... How much do you think weighs on his shoulders already?...

Sorry, it is my belief the only regret bubba has is not being the center of attention.

He is a sociopath. He is the center of his own universe.

When Brian Kilmeade Cornerred the creep and asked him if he wasn't partly resposible for the Tragedy on Sept 11 th I ALMOST got up out of my bed(which I use as a couch) and ROARED with approval... AT LAST SOMEONE CORNERRED THAT BASTARD!!!!!

How could you sit still? :-) I jumped up and down all around the room! FINALLY!

Who would have ever thought that it would be a "sports" guy that asked a hard hitting question? He (Kilmeade) knocked Jennings, Rather, Couric and the rest of the gang down a notch that day. Imagine, a reporter actually doing his job, instead of licking Clinton's feet.
