I lived 2 blocks over for 10 years and thought the same thing when I read this. The tower area isn't a place where you normally see very many people at that time jogging, especially the former president's daughter no less.

In an interview with NBC’s Jane Pauley, Ms. Clinton’s mother, New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, said her daughter had planned to go jogging that morning around the World Trade Center plaza, but opted to go to a coffee shop instead.

Oh please. Who the hell goes jogging around the WTC -- especially at one of the two most crowded times of day?!

Twelve blocks away is no BFD. Unless she was on the roof of a very tall building, she saw nothing and was in absolutely no danger.

I was four blocks away and can't even talk about the worst things I saw, let alone write about it for some cheesy magazine.

Someone should tell the Clintons that it's not about them.

They just can't stop from trying to be the center on the universe can they. Out here if flyover country as each day passes more and more people realize that the Clintons are scum. My guess is that in the midwest (not including MN) about 85 percent of the populace is sick of these wackjobs.

In all fairness, cell phones stopped working around 9:15 that morning and didn't come back until early afternoon. I spoke with my dad right after the second plane hit, but then couldn't reach him for more than two hours, and only indirectly -- I was able to call someone in my office uptown who called him to tell him that I was OK.

There are two starbuckses in the area of the WTC: It's a ten-minute walk away to the Battery Park Starbucks (the one that charged $130 for water) and it's about 12 minutes from the one on Broadway and Pearl Street. There is also one further up Broadway near Wall Street and there is one directly on Wall Street as well. Not a single one of them attracts joggers at either that or any hour of the day - it is not a jogging zone. It is so full of boiler room rude guys in suspenders with bulls on them and big beefy white shirts at that time of day pushing and shoving to the head of the line like the Mercantile Exchange guys that they are that a jogger would be mowed down in such an atmosphere. The idea that she was at the site at that hour supposedly jogging is utter nonsense.

The streets are not really that dark downtown though some of the older ones sandwiched between wall street and pearl street and water street are narrow and twisting. But at 9:15 am by the world trade center it is brigh as day with the reflected shine of the shimmmering steel twin towers and bright as can be in that vicinity. What is more, the WTC vicinity is brimming with stock and bond traders in their thousands since at least six subway routes stop there, and other sorts of humanity, elbow to elbow, no passing room, jostling, crunching, crowding and merely walking at the speed at which some people run. Anyone trying to jog into that would be shoved aside and spat on.
