I made a few changes to the software. I'm wrapping all text in a pair of blockquotes, and am experimenting with the new font. I think it's easier to read. I also extended the em tag to do
yellow highlighting.
Also, if you blockquote some text, it will appear indented and in italics. Thanks to the many wonders of cascading style sheets.
(If anybody wants to read the style sheet I am currently using, it's http://www.freerepublic.com/css/default.css")

My opinion is that serifed fonts are easier to read in print but non-serifed fonts are easier to read on a monitor. This is hard to read for large quantities of text.

Does this mean I'll be able to play the piano again?

"I think it's easier to read." I agree. I like it.

Are the blockquotes necessary? It takes longer to scroll down a thread now.

It's a great font. Easy on the eyes.

John, is there a way for us to do the equivalent of the "old style" blockquote?
I used to be a heavy user of "blockquote", because it allowed me to format my posts nicely and offset certain items.
I'd really rather not end up with big batches of inappropriate italics and blue lines...

PLEASE RETURN THE FONT TO "DEFAULT" SO WE CAN SET OUR OWN FONT VIA OUR BROWSER PREFERENCES. Thank you

I like the new look. Way cool.

I've done web work before, and I *like* the new style.
I trust that you have plans to implement the oft-wished-for <sarcasm> tag.
Twit filters would be nice, too.
