I made a few changes to the software. I'm wrapping all text in a pair of blockquotes, and am experimenting with the new font. I think it's easier to read. I also extended the em tag to do yellow highlighting.

Also, if you blockquote some text, it will appear indented and in italics. Thanks to the many wonders of cascading style sheets.

(If anybody wants to read the style sheet I am currently using, it's http://www.freerepublic.com/css/default.css")

The new font is easier to read, but it's a little large. Can you reduce it a point or two? (I like the indentation, except those parentheses look funny.)

Well, I like not having to fix someone else's open tags. But both the yellow AND the font are ugly.

I thin kit's alright. Gotta love the added lazy factor in leaving tags open.

I like the indentation. Makes things much nicer. The new default font I could take or leave.

This is a terribly feminine default font. I'm not a big fan of the indent either.

How much would we have to pay you to tone down the highlight color?

Maybe something in a light gray?

(great work on the tag filter stuff)

Thanks a bunch.

You mean if you want to highlight you just type EM?

And if you want to indent, it automatically puts it in italics with this blue line in front?

But you don't have to close tags?

Thanks for the update. Sounds like the blockquote is killing the open tags (and as a side bonus, the font seems to be fixed now).

I don't like it.

I guess I'm just used to seeing the text un-blockquoted. I still don't like it.

I really don't like what happens if I use my own blockquote. Doesn't have as much dignity as simply setting it apart by width.

Clue me this: How come when I click on "Topics/Post", and want to access, for example, "Political Humor", I get a list of all articles - not just the humor ones? Hmmmm?

I made a few changes to the software. I'm wrapping all text in a pair of blockquotes, and am experimenting with the new font.

Say, in using the tag --

-- BASE HREF="http://www.some-web-site.com" --

it worked before, and it was helpful keeping the tags linking right to the way an original web page was set up. But now it won't work. Is it possible to get it to work -- so that all the URLs don't have to be "hard-coded" in to make them work?

I don't know if you are taking votes, but if the font is up for "vote", I would recommend Ariel 10 point.
