I believe that the United States Armed Forces should employ psychological warfare in the current situation in the mideast. Terrorism is, after all, essentially psych-ops. And we are at war.

In war, we should fight to win. And that includes using tactics that will terrorize the enemy.

While it may sound silly or, at the least, strange at first glance, what I propose cuts to the heart of the belief system of our enemies.

While I hold nothing against Islamic people as a whole, the fact that the people who perpetrated the atrocity on 11 September 2001 are radical Islamics is something that is part of the equation, wheteher we like it or not, and as such, their beliefs can be used against them in warfare, if we truly want to win this war and at the same time make sure that no one else will ever again try such depravity on American soil.

I propose that the United States Armed Forces, by whatever means is available - leaflets, radio, word-of-mouth, etc. - notify the Islamic world in the mideast that we are going to use pig fat and other body parts in our weapons.

People of the Islamic faith hold pigs in extreme disregard. I don't think it's farfetched to imagine that the thought of being killed by an American bullet dipped in pig fat would terrorize the terrorists against whom we are waging this war. They may even believe that if they died as a result of such a wound that they would not be able to enter Paradise.

Is the United States government willing to use such psychological warfare? Probably not. And more's the pity, because it would be a POWERFUL weapon against our enemies.

I have nothing against attacks like this, except that for now, I'd like us to reserve every pound of lifting capacity of our bomber fleet to carry high explosives, not pig fat. Later, we can go through, round up surviving terrorists and do as the British used to do: wrap them in a pig skin before standing them up in front of a firing squad. That was also very effective.

Why is that? They ARE Islamic. The leaflets and radio and so on can explain that we don't consider all Islamic people to be our enemies, but that we DO intend for the terrorists and the people behind them to in no way go to meet Allah. They don't deserve to. Most Islamics would agree.

Cool. Wouldn't take much. There's probably already pig stuff in the food are guys are eating anyway - just have 'em dip the tips of a few bullets in the Pork MREs, while taking photos of them doing it.

Some suggestions from others here--which I really like:

- Get one of those "Super Scooper" fire-fighting aircraft. Fill it with pigs blood and saturate the Kaa'ba in Mecca.

- Remove the islamic Mosque from the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem...scrub the rock so no trace of the Mosque can be found..strew the site with pig and dog carcasses.

Just for starters...just to get their attention.

We need to understand in this country what we're up against this time around. These people are dedicated and committed. They WILL NOT STOP with their attacks on us until and unless we

a) kill ALL of them (unlikely)

-or-

b) convince them to stop because it's not worth it for them, the price is just too high

I think that this would work, and far more effectively than just sending thousands of American troops to die in the rarified atmosphere of the Afghan mountains.

Perhaps we should smear pig entrails on cockpit doors in all jetliners - that should keep potential terrorists out of there...
