And a HUGE proportion of US oil comes from VENEZUELA -- which may explain certain recent softness on immigration from Central and South America.
PAST TIME FOR THE US TO BECOME FAR MORE ENERGY SELF-SUFFICIENT THAN IS CURRENTLY THE CASE -- BEGINNING WITH THAT NATURAL GAS WE HAVE IN ABUNDANT SUPPLY.

I don't disagree. I just want people to realize that we buy from teh Middle East because we get good oil at low prices, not because a bunch of guys sitting around smoking cigars are trying to screw us.

AND IT'S TIME TO TELL THE CHICKEN LITTLE GREENIES TO SHOVE IT AND -- LIKE FRANCE, WHICH IS UP TO 80% NUCLEAR -- GET MORE SAFE NUKES UP AND RUNNING HERE INSTEAD OF BURNING THAT PRECIOUS -- AND PORTABLE -- NATURAL GAS IN STATIONARY, POWER PRODUCTION APPLICATIONS.

You can bitch about it all you want, but the reason why we buy oil from the middle east is that it is cheaper. You don't say............................
Now exactly how much cheaper is it, and for simplicity sake, we won't consider how much of the money ends up in terrorist bank accounts.
You've been too busy digesting shallow economic "theory" as fed to you by academics and money changers.
