The Israeli gov't is freaking out because the USA is finally establishing some form of diplomatic contacts with countries it doesnn't approve of.

The Israeli lobby has been quite sucessful, heretofore, in preventing these relations. In my view, has been detrimental to our intelligence gathering on the ground in those countries by not have a official 'presence' within these countries.

The screaming from the Israeli lobby will reach "shrill status" very shortly...just watch and listen.

Bush cites chance to 'reexamine' US culture

WASHINGTON, Oct 4 (AFP) -

President George W. Bush on Thursday declared that September 11 terror strikes on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon have given the heartbroken United States a chance to "re-examine" its culture.

"I see, out of this sadness and grief, an opportunity for America to re-examine our culture, to re-examine how we view the need to help people in need, whether it be in our own neighborhood and around the world," he said.

Bush's comments came as he made a morale-boosting trip to the US State Department and announced 320 million dollars in US humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan while affirming his determination to punish its Taliban rulers if they fail to turn over Osama bin Laden, the US government's prime suspect in the attacks.

Ah the Israeli government?

Like Cal Thomas - who is an American, Christian, Conservative journalist - the most widely read in the US?

September 11th's last casualty

"THE Bush administration appears ready to make a serious foreign policy mistake at the moment it is trying to stamp out the evil of terrorism as practiced by Osama bin Laden and his followers.

According to numerous press reports, the administration has linked the dispute between Israel and the Palestinians with unrest in the entire region and is now said to be ready to back the creation of a Palestinian state. It apparently believes such a state will diminish unrest and brutality in a neighborhood that has known little else for the 2,000 years Israel did not exist as a nation-state and in the ensuing 53 years that it has."

Follow link for more. Nope...it's not the Israeli govt. It's sane people.

No, I don't believe you are correct. There will be no screaming here by the 50,000,000 Christians who support Israel, or the 6 million Jews here who support Israel. The screaming you will hear is from the State Department who won't be able to figure out why Israel won't answer their phone calls anymore, and from the Palestinian leadership at the UN demanding intervention to prevent Israel from routing out about 40-50,000 Palestinian terrorists, including all the members of Arafat's police force (which does not enforce any laws anyway) and Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Tanzim, Force-17... and maybe Arafat and his cronies as well.

If they continue to push Israel's back against a wall, trying to force them not to respond to all these murders by Palestinians, it is going to backfire in their faces. They are trying to forge an unholy alliance as someone said, bringing Iran and Syria -- two of the largest supporters of terrorism in the world -- into an anti-terror coalition, while at the same time telling Israel not to respond to terrorism. How much hypocricy do you think Israel will stand for? Certainly not that much.

Clearly, Arafat is goading Israel into responding, trying to break up the coalition by forcing Israel to respond. At some point Israel isn't going to give a sh!t about our coalition and will do what it has to do. We've been working on this peace process for nearly 10 years, and it has been all for naught because the USA won't stand on principle and demand that the Palestinian people have a free and open democracy, without terrorists as the heads of state. As long as we force Israel to negotiate with terrorists and thugs like Arafat, there will be no peace.

IMHO, Israel will do exactly this: Destroy the PA, rout out all the terrorists, and then let foreign observers/military take control of apx 60% of the Palestinian territory with the objective of setting up a Palestinian state along the lines of what we did in Japan in 1945.
