I have been telling you for five years that airplanes have been bombed and/or shot down. The government/media complex always has a new explanation and that 'no evidence exists' of a terrorist attack and you stupid suckers lap up the lies.

Try the latest Russian jet 'crash' for starters. Anybody who does not *KNOW* in their gut that this plane coming from Israel was a terrorist attack is a complete moron.

True, Fitz. Deming is about 30 miles from the border. The only other community in Luna county is the Village of Columbus, if I recall correctly. The village is right on the border. There's a very small border town right across the border that had only one main street. Otherwise, it's a pretty desolate county.

I'm inclined to go along with you here, but if there are (understandably) false alarms, then I think it's at least irresponsible just to clam up about them. Wouldn't good journalistic practices require a retraction and an explanation of the false alarm?

Everyone's keyed up right now, and with good reason. We know the other shoe is going to drop sometime. Sloppy approaches to false alarms by the media don't help.

Yep. Given the only planes available at Deming are small prop planes, and there are tons of fighter jocks within 100, miles, I'd say it's safe to assume this is a very minor incident.

I hope so. I think some of the would-be terrorists might have underestimated the U.S. I'm sure many will try to carry out the plans that were made for them but aren't going to find it as easy as they hoped. They've been catching Arabs in Mexico who were trying to use the routes the illegal Mexicans use so whatever they meant to do isn't going to get done.
