Peaceniks Subdued in NYC

Forgive me if someone else has posted this info. I've not yet seen another after-action report on this afternoon's FReep of 'peace' protestors in Union Square park.

We had a small but dedicated group of about 75 FReepers & walk-ups counter-protesting the "Give Peace A Chance" group occupying Union Square park.

I arrived about 2:00 PM and the reception we received from passersby was electric! Horns were honking and we were given the 'thumbs up' sign by 2/3 of those who drove by.

Many took photos and I would like to think that our demonstration was the reason that the peaceniks moved their 'festivities' down the street about 4 blocks.

We could barely hear their inane and monotonous droning as we drowned them out with chants of: "Hey Osama, it's time we bombed ya!" Little did we know at the time that bombs were indeed dropping in Afghanistan.

The indomitable RaceBannon closed the FReep with a hearty 'three cheers' for the NYPD, which was well received by all.

All in all a great day for America.

I was in the Barnes & Noble on Union Square when the FReep went down, and it was a beautiful sight to behold.

Excellent. How many peaceniks? On my way home tonight I was listening to NPR(only because AM radio doesn't work in my car) and some caller said that 12,000 peaceniks attended. She said this about 12,000 times.

Past experience tells me that is probably a lie. I'm just curious to know how far off she was.

I would say there were about 500-700 in the park. They seemed oddly subdued. Maybe they heard of the counter-strikes and were shamed into relenting.

Hard to say what was on the minds of these people.

That would be because there are no minds in these sheeple. I'm all for the Bill of Rights but this is close to active sedition during a time of war.

In every war, in every person, there is a limit to any idea. Results have to be gained before the shoeple tire of the game, and un-American displays such as this just shorten the time span.

Sounds like the same arguement the peaceniks make about our fighting back: That we'll only "breed" more violence.

Quite the opposite is true -- get in their face every time they try something, it will demoralize them (especially the support for the Freep from passers-by and the public). Ruin their day every chance you get.
