What really amazed me was NBC's request that the gal be allowed her anonymity and their mention that the authorities wanted the contents of the note kept confidential. Hey Pressholes, what about the 'peoples' right to know.'? I think the other media types 'owe' it to us Sheeple to divulge all. Isn't that how Tommy would handle it if it involved somebody he didn't know?

Thanks for posting that link! I just listened to Tom Brokaw's statement and watched him via this link.

It seemed to be that he was touched with Reality, it was too close to his circle of family and friends.

And Tom didn't like that at all!

Geez, the animosity from everyone in this thread is a bit much. Sure, Tom's no hardcore conservative, but he is a MILLION times more mainstream than Rather and Jennings combined. He, and NBC News in general, has always been by far the least liberal network news organization, and the most fair to our side. Let's not make him the enemy.

I mean, Brokaw is Yankton, South Dakota, born and bred. You can't come from there and be too disconnected from reality. His only real big time liberal hangup is an environmentalist streak, and even that is just because he's a big nature nut and is a fly fishing fanatic. Besides, someone just tried to KILL HIM. Normally the press keeps enough distance from a story to be objective, but this lady has been his personal friend for many years and it's good to see him show his humanity.

Mr. Brokaw, instead of presenting real news to Americans, constantly bombards us with entertainment. OJ trial for two years, Tonya Harding, Gary Condit, Monica Lewinsky, anything sensational is hyped and the important news is neglected.

If Mr. Brokaw is sincerely sorry that his employee was injured he will get rid of that liberal smuggness and report factually and without the liberal bias.

Liberal media people like Brokaw have been promoting “multi-culturalism” and the unlimited immigration of third-world foreigners for years, without giving any thought to the quality or sanity of the immigrants. NBC has been a leader in trying to promote the movement that wants America to be mostly non-white within the next 20 years. Now Brokaw is all upset because some of these foreigners are committing terrorist acts within our country. He apparently didn’t expect this. Hopefully these acts will cause our Immigration Service to control the type and quality of future immigrants.
