A Post Office in North Raleigh has been closed off. Emotional workers are being questioned away from the building. All entrances to the parking lot are blocked by Police. Building is sealed. Even Police are staying hundreds of feet away from the stucture. Police are calling it an incident. Privately one officer stated he had major concerns and was awaiting further instructions. Special Response Team has been called
Over reacting, but a kind gester anyway, hon.
The news media ought to have a giant collective conference call - and impose a 5-day ban on reporting this stuff. My bet - within 3 days, all incidents like this would completely cease. Why do it if you don't get any attention?
Michael
I hope these guys aren't that smart. I read today that we still have 300,000 people over here that we need to deport, but can't find. We need to get rid of these people.
We also need to revoke all student and work visas from suspect countries, and tell them we'll give them priority to re-enter the country after a thorough background check. I would also impose an immigration freeze on new immigrants until after the conflict is over.
We needed a lot of the people with work visas during the tech boom over here, but now that we've hit a slump and unemployment is at a 10 year high, I'm sure there are a lot of American citizens who could use those jobs anyway.
Normally I would agree with you. Most of this stuff is probably copy-cat nonsense from the numerous sicko's in our society. But consider this scenario: You passed through the Raleigh, NC post office on your way somewhere else and were exposed to the mysterious unknown "agent" that later turned out to be anthrax, all without your knowledge. The news people follow the 5-day waiting rule and don't report it. Five days later, you hear about it on the news and start trying to remember if that was the day you were at the post office.
Meanwhile, those anthrax spores have been germinating in your lungs and are on their way to developing into a full-blown case of inhalation anthrax, making it too late for antibiotic therapy.
Just be glad this isn't smallpox. That's when you'd start seeing people panic. With a 30% death rate, no available treatment, and limited vaccines, the only way to contain it would be with armed law enforcement imposing enforced quarantines around entire communities.
The snooze media, apparently, has not taken notice of the fact that since George W. Bush has taken office as President of the United States, there has been NOT ONE school shooting in this country. Not one. (Unless I've missed something, and I don't usually)
The news media really needs to suck it in on these copy-cat incidences. Some of the biggies are already starting to. For instance, last night, the NBC Nightly News started "questioning" how many of these occurances were "hoaxes," and they mentioned two specifically. Ignoring, of course, the scores of others, only to say that "tests turned up nothing."
Or, to put it another way, it takes some wiles to hijack an aircraft and fly it into a big, tall building. It takes NO wiles at all to go to Kroger, buy a $1.49 plastic bottle of talc, and then send out letters with a spoonful of powder inside to convenient "targets." That's frat-house stuff to be sure.
So, what do we have so far? One guy dead, questionable inhalation methods, a couple of other "exposures" and one gal at NBC who could have come in contact with the stuff anywhere. Scores of other "scares," but everything comes back negative. If this is a terrorism attack, it's an abysmal failure, because it has taken only one life, not mass destruction of lives. The sooner the media backs off this, the quicker it will vanish.
Michael
All of whom may have come in contact with the same thing as the dead guy. All press related.
Hmmmm...all press related? Scary news sells!
Any press members found around all these hoaxes????
There are maybe a quarter of a million people at the NC State Fair and college football game today in Raleigh. This is an annual event that would suffer greatly if crowds were not significant.
There is a major US Postal facility in the area that does massive amounts of mail sorting and has "undisclosed" methods of sensing hazardous material.
We'll keep yall informed if at all possible. FR continues to break items delayed at other outlets.
Frat boys DO have their moments, but in all fairness I'd initially put the finger on BlackBloc, Earth First!, ELF and others of that ilk.
Most frat boys plan on having an economic stake in our country's future.
Felony convictions tend to f#ck that up.
