1) assault on civil liberties has been fairly bi-partisan, especially considering the overwhelming votes for these bills. (and I do agree that they are WAY over the line, I personally believe they should have sunsetted them after a few months and in meantime come up with something more practical and permanent)
2) assault on energy policies... puh-leez. I will agree that alternative energy sources need to be explored (inc. nuclear), but how the hell is drilling on less than 5% of the ANWR going to cause the catastrophe that is being alleged?
3) assault on tax fairness... class warlord/socialist talk. fair is a safety net in times of trouble but the confiscatory system that's feeding a federal government that's already much too large is not. Also consider that if the Federal government wasn't so bloody huge, could they really pass "assaults on civil liberties"?
4) fast track. I agree, bad idea. Sorry free-marketers. besides Bill wanted it, how good could it be?
5) porous missile defense shield... granted, useless against airplanes and anthrax, but anyone thinking that we've suddenly made nice with Russia, China, Pakistan and all of the other nuke countries for eternity is delusional. Is the defense shield infallible? Apparently not. But does that mean we give up on it completely?
yes, the puncuation sucks, don't sweat it.
They really are a silly bunch at times. Were they not so dangerous to what this country is about, they would be really funny....
"I'm writing in regards to your petition on democrats.com.
It is one thing when you people had the audacity and lack of character to post a cartoon attacking an American hero like Barbara Olson who was killed in the terrorist attacks (how big of you, you who like to protray yourselves as more caring of women's issues.) What a cheap shot, which is so blantatly partisan! I never knew any human being could stoop so low.
Then, you run a cartoon which implicates all white men are terrorists.
Now, you threaten to shatter national unity by your partisan attacks on Republicans and their policies. You people need to pull your heads out of your crying towels and get over the fact YOU LOST!!!!!!!!!! This is not the time for your divisiveness and demogogery which you've done the last eight years. You did NOTHING about terrorism, you did NOTHING about the energy crisis, and you DISARMED our military. In short, your wing of the Democratic party is intolerant and bankrupt of ideas, yet thrives on promoting fear and character assassination to promote its agenda.
I'm married to a Democrat and have friendships with several others. None of them display the childish partisanship and demogogery during this national crisis that your website promotes.
SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!"
I'm not big on censorship, but I'd love to see that website taken off the web. The Barbara Olson attack angered me like nothing ever has.
Yes, the hatred of all things conservative is something to behold. While I am not abject to some vitriol filled rants against the Rats, I never show joy in death. May these Rats continue to thrash about out of the White House for the next 40 years...
