WASHINGTON -- NASA Administrator Daniel S. Goldin, the agency's longest serving administrator, is expected to announce his resignation today at 2 p.m. No replacement has been announced.
According to sources, Goldin will leave the agency in mid-November and will become a Senior Fellow at the Council on Competitiveness, a Washington-based non-profit organization.
According to its web site, the Council on Competitiveness was created in 1986 to foster technological innovation, workforce development and to benchmark of U.S. economic performance against other countries.
The organization is guided by a 30-member Executive Committee and has a staff of 16 people who provide research and operational support. "Chief executives from 50 of the country's most prominent nonprofit research organizations, professional societies and trade associations contribute their expertise as national affiliates of the Council," according to the web site.
Goldin has been NASA's administrator since April 1992 and is credited with pushing the agency to streamline its operations with an approach that became known as "better, faster, cheaper."

Prediction: the next Administrator at NASA will be a General from the Military. The second in command at JPL is a General. Significance: NASA is going to be co-opted for Missile Defense system development.

You ruined NASA with your political games, you ass. You can't say this and mean it.
What you meant to say was, "you obsequious little butt-kissing 'management-guru-hiring' ass."
Carry on.

He'll fit right in, diverting government tech-development money to liberal hokum.
"The Council on Competitiveness has received a $2.3 million grant to support the establishment of BEST, a new nonprofit organization designed to turn around the critical shortage of women and minorities in the high technology workforce, U.S. Representatives Connie Morella (R-MD) and Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) announced today (April 5).
The National Science Foundation awarded the grant, which includes funds from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Institutes of Health, and the U. S. Departments of Agriculture, Commerce-NIST, Defense, and Energy.... "
Good riddance.

In addition to sending John Glenn into space as a political payoff for covering up Clintons treasonous China dealings, this idiot Goldin also happily wastes our tax dollars on any idiotic political correct cause that crosses his desk. Check out this dopey Space is for women too website, and its Herstory of space exploration. Ugggh.:

Arent you happy that part of your salary today will go towards this Oprahesque crapola?

Quite a few heads will be rolling in this crisis -- at least the housecleaning process will be accelerated through all this.

Great news! Hopefully the next administrator will have a less adversarial attitude towards space tourism. Other than that there's not much NASA can do to assist in the development of space.

Daniel Goldin...just another good Irish boy tight ?

'management-guru-hiring' LOL! Our other office that works for NASA always has those "feel-good" seminars for their employees...the AF, whom our division works for, rejects that kind of crap.

Dont let the door hit you on the way out, Goldin. He'll be doing good if he can find the damn door...

Quite a few heads will be rolling in this crisis -- at least the housecleaning process will be accelerated through all this. I'm no Goldin fan, but what could the current crisis possibly have to do with him finally leaving NASA?
