Offer him "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. He prolly won't read it.

Darn, you beat me to it!

I was going to suggest Atlas Shrugged as the definitive commentary on socialism v. capitalism.

For those who simply won't read a steamer-chest-sized book like Atlas Shrugged, its story-within-a-story of the factory where John Galt had worked is a pretty darn good refutation of socialism in and of itself.

I was coming in here to say "Atlas Shrugged" I read it when I heard a Conservative who married a liberial and got tired of it. He had her read AS and she got madder and madder as the pages turned and by the end of the book was a conservative.

It is true and it works besides being a VERY good novel and easy reading, tho long. I now buy 3-4 copies at a time and hand them out to friends like yours.

But I also have seriously dumped my lib friends. "with friends like these who needs enemies?"
