NY Governor handing out Prophylactics
Fox News | 10/17/01 | Gov. Pataki (in news conference)

Posted on 10/17/2001 9:25:50 PM PDT by det dweller too

Just heard on Fox news. Gov Pataki said he will be handing out prophylactics as a precaution to the latest anthrax scare.
Does anybody know if there is an interaction with viagra? Also, has anybody heard from the NEA? They'll know how to do it.

He's probably referring to the method of prophylactizing (sp) oneself. Protecting oneself.

For example, I'm going to bed in a few, but I'll take a few aspirin to make sure my heart is still ticking in the morning and also I hope to avoid a hangover. Get it?

I heard it too, but he said they're using Cipro as a prophylactic, which means "preventive"

Function: adjective
Etymology: Greek prophylaktikos, from prophylassein to be on guard, from pro- before + phylassein to guard, from phylak-, phylax guard
Date: 1574
1 : guarding from or preventing disease
2 : tending to prevent or ward off : PREVENTIVE
- pro·phy·lac·ti·cal·ly /-ti-k(&-)lE/ adverb

Are you sure he didn't say, "prophylaxis?"

My good friends always told me to take a raincoat if I visited NYC!

They say it's like taking a shower in a raincoat.

I have no idea what that means. Do you?

Not a clue...but showering with a raincoat? You're not one of those latex fetishists like Condit, are you?

Well, I hope he can get them on, Maybe the NEA can help with this as well.
Judging from your screen name, maybe you can give the Gov. some cogent advice.
