What do you want to bet this is just a campaign ploy? If he gets re-elected, he'll rescind his plan. He wants to "civilianize" the fire department. What does that mean? Untrained personnel on fire trucks? As I understand it, he's going to transfer EMS people to fire trucks. That means fewer people to man ambulances and there are too few now.

Thing is, what is it in the mind of the voters who are voting for him?? Who the heck are they?? My speculation, it will mostly be the blacks in the city who vote for him. Have they ever heard of the Titanic??? Do any of them ever think beyond their own noses????

He already has. Remember, he refused to defend our city against Algore's lies. Anyway, like I said in a thread earlier this week, I feel for the victims in NYC, but I'm glad it didn't happen here. There's no way our emergency services could have handled it. Brown's steadfast refusal to increase HFD's budget has forced them to make do with too few firefighters and EMT's and substandard equipment.
