I'm of the opinion that this is the answer to your initial question. We, as a nation, have forgotten God. President Lincoln warned about that nearly 150 years ago.

You are what you do. If you do boring, stupid monotonous work, chances are you'll end up boring, stupid and monotonous. Work is a much better explanation for the creeping cretinization all around us than even such significant moronizing mechanisms as television and education.

Our forefathers were generally much more well rounded and complete people. Modern man and his specialization of jobs and tasks has taken the thought process, the creativity and individualism out of the things we spend most of our life doing and made us simpletons in the larger view. I have yet to meet a man as intelligent and well rounded as my Dust Bowl farming grandfather.

EXCELLENT POST FreedomFriend and worthy of thought and discussion by true Conservatives and Americans who see all of these things happening and wonder how do we stop this ongoing landslide into Liberalisn/Socialism.

Not sure why this kind of post is considered a "vanity" and brings forth childish, liberal type emotional responses from some of the mean spirited dunces that seem to lurk awaiting for one word to be "misspelled", and then devote the whole thread to that, instead of the actual subject matter of the posting.

Must be government school undergraduates or as Rush categorizes people like this - "seminar callers."
