Re: Boog Powell:

I remember going to Memorial Stadium as a kid. The first time I was on the top row right in front of the low concrete wall protecting you from a 200' drop. I nearly jumped over the wall twice. The second time was when they announced Boog Powell (BOOOOG!). The first time was when they got to the closing stanza of the National Anthem (O! say does that Star Spangled Banner...)

I've never been to Camden Yards, and I'm not sure I want to go. Besides, these days I go to The Home Office Of Baseball...

Are you ever old! I dearly loved those 69-71 Orioles who went to three straight series, winning one (against Cincy in '70). Alas, I never saw saw that bunch live. I did see the O's beat the Yanks in some less important game in 1959 as part of a field trip for our Little Leage team.

One thing I remember about Boog was that the TV announcers were always explaining to the audience, "They're not booing, they're calling 'Booooooog!'"
