Hmmmm...I see it just the opposite. I think Johnson's just recently learned how to win big games and I'm not sure if the last coupla games are a fluke or not. IMHO, if Johnson's able to pull out a win (betcha Kim won't be closin' a close game...LOL!), I believe Schilling's enough of a Hoss to throw 100+ pitches in Game 7 and still be unhittable for a Yanks lineup that lacks the Punch of some Yankees' Teams of Yesteryear.

As a dyed-in-the-wool Yankees hater, the last two nights have been sickening, like Steinbrenner and Speilberg got together and scripted the whole damn game. Putting Kim in last night was a good idea that just went wrong. Putting him in last night was a bad idea that went wrong. Why not bring Randy Johnson out to pitch the 9th last night? It won't kill him for his Saturday start, and he's done it before a few times back when he was a Mariner.

But Arizona should still be OK. NY goes to Arizona and loses their DH, which really hurts their offense. Give me Johnson to pitch a complete game tomorrow night and win Game 6. The put Schilling in for six innings the next night (he'd stay out there for nine if you let him, but I don't think he'll have the gas to throw more than 70 pitches) and Brian Anderson in for the final three. If the Diamondbacks can get to Clemens for at least 3-4 runs before Rivera comes in, Arizona wins. If not, I'm going into hibernation for six months.

And then in the offseason, trade Byung-Hung Kim for a bag of peanuts and a new jock strap for Schilling. =)

I agree that this Series is far from over...but, my self-described liberal FRiend, how "compassionate" is it to say, "...trade Byung-Hung Kim for a bag of peanuts and a new jock strap"?! The kid's 22 and had a great season as a closer...while that pitch Martinez hit was a meatball, Brosius dug that pitch last night outta the dirt!! Poor kid...hope he doesn't let it destroy his career like that Angels' pitcher who eventually off'd himself after blowin' the save about a decade back!!

I train for endurance.
Endurance is everything; as I can outlast most in a variety of physical contests which ain't bad for an ol' dawg.
You know a guy who participates in the Iron Man comps; & his training has to be very similar.
So, 200# for 10 reps doesn't do nearly the magic 75# for 200 reps will.
If you work out, try it.
It's not about weight unless your some olympian power-lifter from Russia or a Sumo Wrestler anyway, & you only risk hurting yourself.
Doing the high-rep method saves precious elbows, wrists, rotators etc...I know because as it is, I'm healing from a left elbow injury from last March.
The trick in any event, is being consistent; whatever you do.

Oh Mud, I was only joking. He's still got the makings to be a really good pitcher (starter or closer), if he can mentally overcome what happened the last two games. But I don't think you're going to see him doing it in a Diamondbacks uniform.

He begs and begs to be allowed to start Game 4 so he can make three starts, and now he's worried about injuring himself? He might screw the whole team by getting over his head with his tough-guy attitude.
