However, the further danger of these proposed regulations lay in its mandate that every American have their federal Social Security number permanently identified with their state drivers license. If this regulation had been implemented, anyone who wished to be allowed to drive on the roads paid for with their tax dollars, would first have to produce a Social Security number and have it printed on their drivers licenses.

Someone needs to explain to Bob that this has ALREADY happened with the "Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1995".
The Act requires everyone to produce a social security number in order to recieve any state issued license.

Our freedoms began disappearing in the late '70s and early '80s when the metal detectors began appearing at government buildings and government airports; and we lost the Constitutional Right of "presumed innocence" and replaced it with "presumed guilt." (I don't care what the courts have ruled since).

Then in 1995 more Constitutional Rights disappeared as the U.S. Border Patrol established 24-hour road blocks and vehicle inspection stations on every major federal, state, and local highway in San Diego county, California.

So far they've searched my car unsuccessfully at least four times (more actually). But I haven't had a parking ticket since 1984, and I don't drink or use drugs, so I'm not into smuggling either; Again, we're presumed guilty, until we prove innocence.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm an 100% supporter of border enforcement and the U.S. Border Patrol and airline safety, but I'd rather see it done on the 66 mile border in San Diego county, rather than 25 miles inland on the highways, and on passenger aircraft with lawfully armed pilots, sky marshals, or passengers.

And I'll tell you this as a pilot: Those solid steel bulletproof cockpits doors will kill more people than they save. What do you think a hijacker is going to do when he encounters one? He's going to start killing passengers until the pilots open the door, and if that fails destroy himself and the aircraft.

And while I'm bitching, we need to formally declare war. Has the U.S. ever won an undeclared war? I don't think so. But it depends on if you think we defeated Saddam I guess... I don't think we did, personally. If we did, whay is he now attacking us with biological anthrax?

Nice job once again, Uncle Bill!

Can't wait to have sinkspur come in here on this thread with some more lame excuses for this crap.

Naaaah. Won't happen. She (yeah, that's right, I said "SHE") couldn't take the heat in this kitchen!

Wondering how I know "SinkingSHIPSpur" is a female? A few days ago she flamed me with the end phrase of "buster", a phrase which, during my 50-some odd years on this planet, has only been known to be used by women to vent anger at men!

Sorry, sink, you're cover is busted. Not that it matters, just another 'kink your armor'. But I've suspected it for a long time. (heh, heh)
