Holy Cow! I just took a look at just a 1MT ground blast in Downtown Dallas. I would be just inside the 12psi circle here at work.

I guess the only good thing that I could pull out of that, is that no matter what size nuke hit downtown, I would never know what hit me.

I tried the 25MT airburst over San Diego. My house is a good ways away from downtown (about 8 miles), and I'm still in the "everything gets flattened" ring (5-12 psi). Happy thought: I'm next to a canyon, my house might be in a blast shadow.

Single-family residences within this this area have been completely blown away -- only their foundations remain. Fifty percent of the population between the 12 and 5 psi rings are dead. Forty percent are injured.
	2 psi Radius: 4.7 miles Any single-family residences that have not been completely destroyed are heavily damaged. The windows of office buildings have been blown away, as have some of their walls. Everything on these buildings' upper floors, including the people who were working there, are thrown onto the street. Substantial debris clutters the entire area. Five percent of the population between the 5 and 2 psi rings are dead. Forty-five percent are injured.
	1 psi Radius: 7.4 miles Residences are moderately damaged. Commercial buildings have sustained minimal damage. Twenty-five percent of the population between the 2 and 1 psi rings have been injured, mainly by flying glass and debris. Many others have been injured from thermal radiation -- the heat generated by the blast. The remaining seventy-five percent are unhurt.

Oh great, I Live and work w/in 12 miles of Downtown L.A. I just never thought about it happening seriously.AND I only checked the 1 Megaton Blast.I'm sure it would be Larger than 1 Megaton if one was dropped here.This is really an eye-opener for me.Fascinatingly (temporarily)scary,when you think about the fallout zone going out 50 miles to the 15 freeway.
