But we're not a democracy, we're a Constitutional Republic. Besides that, the Presidential election is not a popularity contest, it's decided by a majority in the Electoral College. Our founding fathers protected us from ballot-stuffing and other measures.

Scholars ???- a fourth grader could tell you the counting of votes by biased news agencies is not a legal tally of votes. The vote was certified by C. Harris a long time ago. I think it's great the liberals are still counting votes in FLA. We are at war and they are counting votes, funny. Maybe we can next get them to certify the number of WTC deaths. They whine and whine and 99 percent of Americans tire of it. The democratic party will soon be a third party.

I think the DemocRATS have declared Jihad here by sending Toobin on the Today Show to finish his book tour.

They are laying the groundwork if the numbers go their way for a horrible backlash that could destroy their own party-a terrible miscalcuation but good for the pubbies!

Nope! This information has been fermented too long. The stench of the batch should clearly indicate that outcome based education has prevailed, Gore finally won!

Too bad the homework was due over a year ago. Maybe he can use it for extra credit when he tours China's military commanders for money to build a few monasteries in DC, complete with meditation rooms and a crying wall.

I hate cheese!

I think this is a scenario that could happen. Believe me, they just need one count. It doesn't matter how contrived. If Gore could have won this way, they will harp on it.

I hope this result is not what the DU crowd says it is. If Bush won or if it is inconclusive, then we're okay. But they will cook the books, IMHO.

It's time for an all-out effort to draw attention to the other places in the country that should have been re-counted: Philidelphia, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, New York, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Oregon, the rest of Florida, all the absentee ballots. Why is the right so silent about obvious corruption? Why don't we define the story for once, and express outrage? I do not believe Gore won the popular vote. Any ideas how to direct the conversation to these other areas of obvious ballot manipulation? A whole lot of the country was "disenfranchised" and all the focus is on 4 Florida counties re-counted 100 or so times.

And how about the troops who were disenfranchised?

That's what I want to know. What if it shows that he won?

That's just it - Sore/Loserman did not win. Never - never - never - was he ahead of Bush. No matter how many laws were broken, no matter how many absentee ballots were not counted, no matter how many times Gorons attempted to manufacture votes for their candidates, they still lost.

How did this self-appointed, meaningless (except for propaganda purposed) consortium glue all those chads back in the Gore holes? What about the trashed military votes, the ballots that never arrived, the illegal felon votes that did count? One thing's clear, American journalism students are not required to take logic, ethics, or religion 101.

So why does anyone care about this study? Besides, I heard the WSJ is a big player in it.

If the WSJ is a big player, that's a good thing. They lean more to the right than most of the other national papers.

From what I understand, the consortium of media outlets paid Florida state employees by the hour to do a real recount -- that is to say if Fla's election board had gone ahead with the recount as recommended by the Florida Supremes. It will be interesting to see what would have happened with the recount had the U.S. Supremes not stepped in. Are you not the least bit curious?

I'm trying to keep an open mind about this thing because both the right and left have the right to get their concerns aired. It is true in my mind that the GOP had more zeal in their protesting of the recount. AlGore was, well, AlGore in how he handled the recount. He intellectualized it and didn't successfully tap into the emotion of not knowing who our next leader would be.

"He intellectualized it and didn't successfully tap into the emotion of not knowing who our next leader would be." No he used every OJ defense he could to alter the count. Stop the military, had people saying they voted for someone by mistake, played the effffinng race card. He damn near tore this country apart in his vain attempt to win. Now we have the biggest challege facing the US since WWII and these jerk-offs are dredging this B/S up. Do you suppose Al would fight to get the military vote thrown out now. Clintooon, Hillary, and Gore split this country apart to satisfy their own ambitions. They need to leave the US now. Screw recounting again and again.

Is this yet another recount by another group? So many of them were already completed and found Bush still won. Now we get yet another opinion?

The only way they can say Gore really won is to count disqualified ballots and divine the intention of those who either left it blank, voted for two candidates or "accidently" voted for the wrong person.

Some of the above senarios indicate voter fraud gone wrong, which is what I suspect happened.
Jeffie Toodumb didn't even base his opinion on the numbers, just his feelings and wrote a book about it declaring Gore the winner! Of course he "knew" Gore won from page 1, but don't let the truth stand in the way of good journalism!

I understand that the idiot bases his incredulity on the fact that Buchanan/Foster got 3000+ votes in Palm B(ea)tch (Foster is double minority). Well how about the fact that McCollum got 1691 more votes that Bush/Cheney in Palm B(ea)tch. That happened in only 3 counties and in only one where the Republican team lost--- Palm B(ea)tch. Let's investigate. PB was one of the last (if not the last) to report results. Enough already. I say shoot the buzzards or send them on a terminal trip to Mecca bearing posters announcing that they are pig-eating, light-in-the-loafers, boozers.
