I was one of the early readers of Salon along with about 10 other intrepid conservatives who regularly did battle in Table Talk with the patelar liberals who resided there. I don't read it anymore except to occasionally visit to read Horowitz take them to task over something. Post-clinton, it's influence has declined along with it's stock price.

These workers' choices are to toil from dawn to dark in a dysentery-infested rice paddy; become a slave laborer pouring asphalt in some Middle East sheikdom; or sell their children to a prostitution-pornography ring with the hope that at least their children will be fed.
The Third World is not peopled by mindless automatons requiring the benevolent wisdom of superior Westerners to watch out for their interests. They work for Nike because it is their highest and best alternative.
