It got worse during the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards show when she stripped down to a revealing, skintight outfit.

That was probably television’s finest hour, other than the ongoing emergence of Beetlejuice as a major celebrity.

You're teaching that girl right! The Hag rocks. I've got two kids, 7 and 4, and I wouldn't let them get within a million miles of somebody like Brittney Spears, but I'm making sure they grow up hearing tons of good music. I bet I've got the only 7-year-old who can sing Sinatra's "I've Got You Under My Skin" from start to finish, you ought to hear both of them harmonize to the Hollies' "Carrie Anne" (they've got the ending down pat), the other night my 7-year-old sang the entire Beatles' "Help" album, from "Help" to "Dizzy Miss Lizzie," with me accompanying on my Rickenbacker guitar (like to have wore me out) and you ought to see my kids dancing to Glenn Miller's "In The Mood."

The author of this article needs to pull the stick out and get a life. He's obviously one of the men who "worships her like a sex goddess", but just can't admit it. For me, I'm still waiting for her to do Playboy. :)

She'll be washed up before she's 25.

If you look at the last 30 years, no one remembers the posers.

Alice spends more time playing golf and studying the Bible than singing these days.

I think it's time for a Guns and Roses reunion. Original members.

These constant metamorphoses help her appeal to multiple audiences, making her money. But the inevitable by-product is that Britney corrupts the morals of America's youth, all for a quick buck.

Bingo! Now we know why the Cornell Daily Sun is becoming interested in censorship. Surprise, surprise, surprise!!!

Britney should not be faulted for her capitalistic ways, or for trying to repackage herself.

Yeah, right!

I will probably be boycotting Britney's record anyway just like I've boycotted all of 'em. But Britney hasn't been corrupting America's youth. She's just making some more money off of em.

Shalom.

Take me home,
I promise I won't
Pierce my ears
Or look at girls like
Britney Spears.

Note to self: Change screen name from "Freemyland" to "Playboy."

Painful yes, but where does a guy go to get a pair of trousers for that setup?

One minute, Britney acts like a cheap hooker, making music videos that belong in the backroom of a video store, not on basic cable. The next minute, Britney becomes a sweet, virtuous, upstanding citizen.
Darling, a true lady takes off her dignity with her clothes and does her whorish best. At other times you can be as modest and dignified as your persona requires.

You're right, she's more of a symptom than an illness. Every generation has stuff like this, in a manner of speaking. It just seems like the envelope is getting pushed harder as time goes on. I just wonder what all those people in 1956 and 1964 who thought people who liked that greasy Elvis dude or those hairy Beatle critters would burn in hell, would think if Brittney Spears had dropped into their midst?
