A Harborplace merchant was fatally stabbed Thursday night outside her upper-level accessories shop in the Light Street Pavilion as horrified witnesses tried to stop the attack -- capturing the assailant in a violent struggle as shoppers ran screaming for safety.

The homicide was only the second in the history of the twin waterfront shopping pavilions, which opened in 1980 as the centerpiece of an Inner Harbor renaissance.

Averella said some witnesses were taken to police headquarters for interviews. She described the actions taken by those who subdued the suspect as "crucial."

"They prevented him from escaping," she said.

Suprise, surprise someone just released from jail goes and kills his wife because she had no way to protect herself other than a piece of paper. Another example where an armed citizen could have stopped a murder but was prevented by Maryland law.

The police then comment how important the public's help was after the victim is dead.

yep. She'd be alive today.

The anti-gunners aren't afraid of pro-gun people having guns, they're afraid of what THEY"D do if they had a gun, and they expect others to be just like them.
"People are too stupid to own guns, therefore they must go." In reality, they're saying THEY are to stupid to own guns, but won't admit it. Therefore, EVERYONES gun must go.

They're just afraid of what they'd do with a gun, plain and simple. All this has nothing to do with us. It's their problem!
