There was quite a lot happening outside where we were. We were witness to an accident when some guy was ogling our signs and costumes instead of watching the car ahead of him stop to make a left turn. Luckily, there was a policeman observing who called in reinforcements quickly and they took care of the situation. The woman in the little car that was hit was dressed up in a black suit and looked like she had been planning to attend Hillary's do.

The Special Division of the DC Police Department evidently didn't read our permit very closely and sent the permit to the Foreign Division -- we were designating a street corner on embassy row for our protest but the application clearly stated that Hillary's fundraiser was being protested.

We found out about this when an officer assigned to the VP checked us out. He recognized me from the White House and immediately knew we were from Free Republic. He told us that they were expecting a protest at the Italian Embassy. The Italian Embassy must have been worried because a contingent of Secret Service officers assigned to them checked us out too.

We had a great time greeting the few who ventured forth to Hillary's party. It was a captive audience when they had to wait for the light or wait to turn left and we could see their pained faces as they absorbed the messages on our signs. A couple of cars with attendees decided not to turn after all and sped away.

One of my signs showed Hillary in that now famous pose with bags under her eyes and a tired, bored expression. I used that picture with a caption HILLARY WORKS HARD FOR THE MONEY. I also had a picture of Hillary and Suha Arafat hugging and kissing with the caption HAVE YOU HUGGED A TERRORIST TODAY and a sign used before CLINTON (heart) LOVES TERRORISTS.

Back in April when Hillary held her first fundraiser, there were valets parking cars and streams of people attending. Things have changed.

Re: Post # 124. Actually i believe it was because Hillary was showing a little leg on the street corner. Then the woman driving got out of the car and she was showing more leg than i was. So there!

A freeper witnessed the accident and told me that the woman driving the car had stopped suddenly and slammed on the brakes, causing the gentleman driving the suv behind her to collide w/ her car from behind. I encouraged this freeper to go forward to the police and tell what he saw. I don't think he did. He knows who he is.

Thanks, D.C. chapter. Lately, the best stuff I'm reading here at FR are the reports of real FReeps. This was a good one.

So are the ones JimRob is attending against Condidit. If I ever had the chance to attend a real FReep, I'd love it. Out here in Red America, i.e. Flyover America, we don't get much chance to do anything like this.

I still want to see the pictures.
