For those of you who are not as fortunate as myself to be blessed with a classical education, I present to you Spell Checker for Edit Boxes.
I feel that some folks with a great deal of insight/wisdom are reluctant to post because they may possess a "less than stellar" spelling talent.
Just as tall people (such as myself) are unfairly viewed positively by society, so are people who don't spell every word correctly.
Proper spelling is to intelligence as typing 100 WPM is to playing a Chopin etude - very little correlation.
(There's not a Mac version, but if you know Mac users like I do - they'll claim it's impossible to make a spelling error on a Mac or sumpin'.)

I thought my "winter wind" comment was a joke also. I knew YOU were joking. Guess mine wasn't funny, huh?

BTW, I don't recall your spelling, but I do recall that you make some formidable arguments on here--even when I disagree. Your years spent in public education do not reflect your education at all.

Dear Good Senator....Thanks, but we WebTV users can't download doodley squat! We do have a spell Check feature with our e-mails, and spelling has NEVER been one of my best subjects. I would love to see FR incorporate a spell check system in the Post Reply section...maybe then I could use a few words that have more than three syllables without going to the Dictionary...Thank you, sw

I have it at the top of my Netscape browser in the "Personal Toolbar" folder so it is handy to access.

Those in need of a Mac version of a spell checker which has a "floater" on the screen at all times and in all applications and which is , will have to trust me (for a one time email) with their email address. Try SpellTools once and you'll just smile when PC users talk about spell checking problems. I especially like the feature that removes the "<" from emails. There are other tools, too!
As soon as I can get moved from @home to Charter Pipeline, I will provide a download on my website and on my FreeRepublic profile page. Meantime, I will have to send it as an attachment to an email. The company (Newertech) that originally published it and offered a free download is no more. The website was http://www.newertech.com but I notice that it is no longer on the web.
