I've been battling for weeks trying to get Linux to work on a small LAN with an ADSL internet connection. A piece of cake to set up in Microsoft Win2K, a nightmare in Linux. I've used Red Hat 7.1 and Mandrake 8.0 and 8.1. I'm bound and determined to get it to work, but hopefully not at the cost of my marriage for wife neglect, or bankruptcy for business neglect. It seems that my server function problems stem from an incompatibility between SAMBA and WIN2K. I've got some work arounds I have to try yet.
I read a review at The Register today about SuSE 7.3 Professional. Has anybody used it yet, and is it suitable for lazy arseholes like me who prefer a GUI over a command line?
