I say that "what the public wants what the media sells". You respond that it's really the opposite: "the media delivers what the public want". In reality, we both are right. The media delivers conventional wisdom and the media feeds conventional wisdom. This is a positive feedback loop. The public swallows lies which the media imposes. So the media offer more lies of the same sort...

WRT the Arab/Israeli question, the truth is easy enough to discern. For a thousand years, Arabs treated Jews and Christians decently in Palestine. As second-class citizens, true - but decently. Then a group of Jews decided that they should have first-class status and Arabs should come second, so they created a racist state in Palestine. After that, all hell broke loose...

Interesting and simple indeed. And no British empire in sight, to whom both groups belonged. And no division (artificial, granted, but so are the boundaries of Iraq or Jordan). No division into, yes, Jewish state and Transjordan?

I guess this is what another group of Jews have done in Germany, in the 1940s. No wonder there all hell broke loose as well.
