Could this happen at your school ?

I thought I would share with you all. Three events that happened over the last two days.
The first was on Monday. From a letter sent home with the kids last week said Monday was Red, White & Blue day. You were to wear something patriotic. So after school on Monday my 1st. grader jumps off the bus wearing a big flag button. I ask “ were did you get that nice flag button ? “ and she replies “ Oh one of the 1st grade teachers brought them in and gave them out to all the 1st graders “

Can you imagine that a Teacher bringing in flag buttons and handing them out at school !

And tonight went over to the High School for a drama club parent appreciation dinner and play. And what posters did I see up on the wall there ? All over the school the FFA Buck Pool. For 2 bucks entry you can “ bet “ on if you will get the biggest racked Deer.

What is this world coming to. A school has a patriotic day. Let’s a teacher hand out flag buttons. And permits hunting with gun posters up on the walls.

With all the bad things that come out of schools And after that Madison flag incident. I thought I would put out some good news. From WI.

Madison is an island to it’s self.

Ha! In California, of all places, my GS's school has every Friday as patriotic day. Red white & blue clothes. Flags. Every day the pledge has been said. Go figure.....

My middle daughter had her parent/teacher conference tonite. I appreciate your post. We homeschool our older child, and reluctantly keep this one in public school because we are very rural and she needs the social interaction. I did notice an attitude change is in the air. Her teacher laughed at the silliness of guidance cirriculum and actually said"funding does not equal education". I almost fell over.

needs the socialization? you can give her that better than public schools can. Its a rural school? well, thats better than the urban ones I guess.

We've had red, white, and blue day at our elementary school. We have "Proud to be an American", on the sign outside of the school. In the Middle School the teachers wore handmade name tags with red, white and blue ribbons on them. I don't think anyone would be having a deer rack pool going on though. An MIA flag flies below the American flag at the one school. Our High School television station did a great video of interviews with veterans that was played on television. We don't have deer rack pools or gun signs, however the police do come in and tell the kids in elementary school about gun safety. As annoyed as I sometimes get with the school system, they do somethings that deserve to be applauded, IMO.

AMEN!! We left Houston(after moving from New Orleans!) for rural-but-high-tech employment for me and got a GREAT BLESSING for our children...a PubliK SKool with prayer(?), 4-H club(.22 rifles!), decent football, folks who actually CARE about others, good church, and a district smart enough to elect Ron Paul. The www, freerepublic, DSS, and digital cell phones were icing on the cake. Plus I can teach my children "gun control" "right out back". I keep waiting for someone to wake me up....thank G_d they haven't...

Lots of lockers are decorated with US flags at the local public school jr. high where our kids attend...... and yes, there are muslim kids wearing turbans in the school, who are apparently not offended by this display of patriotism.

OOPS(it's late) forgot to include the Veterans Day event at school. Prayer opening, Vets led in by their service flags and music, songs and poems by the children to the vets, and an excellent speech by Ron Paul(got out early due to HReps schedule changes at last minute). I was not the only one "near tears" at times when looking at faces we know and realizing all of these "old" guys put their lives on the line for US and a lot of them did not come back alive. I hope the minor changes for the better I'm seeing here are on a much larger scale in less rural areas...

Next thing you know, they will be teaching Language, Math, Civics, Science, Music, and History.

Where does a guy have to move to get a school which emphasises abortion, condoms, cross-gender studies, homosexuality, history revision, non-competitive physical education, drugs, trans-racial world views, Marxist economics, whining, masturbation, and eco-feminism?

What is this world coming to?

I hope the minor changes for the better I'm seeing here are on a much larger scale in less rural areas...

I believe where I live, they have made many changes for the better. You can see sixteen and seventeen-year-old teenagers look at the older vets with awe and respect. Often, they are invited into our history classes as well to give the students living history accounts. IMHO, it is a wonderful idea. They also have had women explain the sacrifices that were made at home in supporting the war efforts. Of course, some speakers are better at presenting their story, but as far as I know, the students respect them for the time they take to come and tell their story.

I hope this phenomenon spreads to all the other school districts.

I can report there was a fleeting skirmish at our school when a teacher posted a sign on the office window that read "Bless America". The parents objected to the irrational ommission of of the subject, God, and the school district relented on the (erroneous and nonsensical) basis that it was a form of patriotic not religious expression, therefore it would be "God Bless America" after all. Of course, the local paper's unusual interest in this story helped move it more quickly to the desired result.

Since then we have had school-wide simultaneous recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance every morning over the public address system, a patriotic assembly in which my daughter marched on stage with her friends and belted out George M. Cohans "Your a Grand Old Flag", and a beautiful Veterans Day tribute by the children to our veterans, twenty of which sat on the stage in their service uniforms. It was awesome and I could only think that this love for our country was always burning in the heart but it had been censored from school life until now.

We have the NEA commies on the run and they are squirming like Hillary in church.
