WASHINGTON, D.C. While ties between far-right racist groups and the Bin Laden network seem tenuous at best, the Financial Times reports German police are focusing on one individual who might provide a real link.
His name is Ahmed Huber, 74, a Swiss businessman and journalist living in Bern, who became a muslim in the 1960s. Huber sits on the board of directors of Nada Management, a financial services and consulting company that forms part of the international Al Taqwa group, according to the Times. The U.S. claims this group has long acted as advisers to al-Qaeda. Italian police recently questioned two other Nada Management board members.
A spokesman for Germany's office for the protection of the constitution, the internal intelligence agency, told FT yesterday that Huber "sees himself as a mediator between Islam and right-wing groups." The police claim he has ties to the revisionist movement, which claims the holocaust doesnt exist.
A spokesman for NPD, a big far-right party in Germany, said Huber often addressed NPD events.
While Huber denies being engaged in any sort of terrorist activity, he told FT that he met associates of bin Laden at a conference in Beirut. The Swiss media quotes Huber as saying, approvingly, these people "are very discreet, well-educated, very intelligent people."
This was probably a planning meeting for the "Institute for Historical Review," a group of holocaust deniers, which had scheduled its annual conference in Beirut. As Reported by the SPLC's Intelligence Report:
"Earlier this year, the IHR was scheduled to hold its annual conference in Beirut, in conjunction with a Swiss denier named Jürgen Graf who has found asylum in nearby Iran. Lebanese authorities, responding to international pressure, ordered the meeting cancelled, but it was recently reported that new Syrian President Bashar Assad (who during a recent papal visit revived the accusation that the Jews had killed Christ) may approve such a meeting in Damascus before the end of the year."
William Pierce, head of the National Alliance and author of The Turner Diaries - a "novel" of race war that served as Timothy McVeigh's blueprint for the Oklahoma City bombing - is known to frequent IHR conferences. And there are reports that Pierce was indeed in Beirut earlier this year.
The National Alliance has also expressed its solidarity with Islamic radicals. Consider the following statement by Billy Roper, Deputy Membership Coordinator of the "National Alliance."
The enemy of our enemy is, for now at least, our friends. We may not want them marrying our daughters, just as they would not want us marrying theirs. We may not want them in our societies, just as they would not want us in theirs. But anyone who is willing to drive a plane into a building to kill jews is alright by me. I wish our members had half as much testicular fortitude.
Interesting. Other reports link Iraqi intelligence agents to Tim McViegh, and perhaps Elohim City. Will the mainstream media follow this one, only to discover that the circumstances of the OKCity bombing was clearly covered up by the FBI and the Feds? Since this would indict Clinton via Reno as having suppressed evidence, perhaps the mainstream would rather not go there... we shall see.
In my mind the neo-Nazi movemtent has nothing to do with conservatism. But I'll guarantee you liberals don't see it that way.
