"Does anyone remember the recent picture of GW with hands on the back of the great whale, Ted Kennedy. Remember the stunned look that Ted had.

Well, rumor has it, that, GW, offered Teddy, to name the new building the Teddy Kennedy building. The only problem, it couldn't be name after anyone still alive!

This kind offer brought that stunned look out on Teddy's ample face!"

Maybe he was just drunk.

You speak as if Larry Klayman and I actually know each other or something.

Just the name 'Robert Kennedy Justice Department Building' is insulting to the meaning and concept of justice, besides it sounding like a cruel joke. That building isn't fit to have Larry Klayman even step in it.

President George W. Bush next week is expected to name the Justice Department
headquarters after Robert F. Kennedy, a Democratic U.S. attorney general and
brother of former President John Kennedy. "He is expected to sign a document
essentially dedicating the Justice Department building for Robert F. Kennedy," a
White House official said on November 16, 2001. The official had no further
information on the decision. The Justice Department building is shown in a
November, 1996 file photo. REUTERS/Robert Giroux-

I reply as often as I can. I go to school, I am taking 18 credit hours, I have a life, therefore I don't always reply in a timely manner.

I don't see why I need to defend myself to you. But what you said really bothered me, for your testimony to my personality would never stand up in a court of law. You have never personally met me, don't even know what I look like...I am practically a straight A student and have practiced investigative journalism in other areas. I just firmly believe in JW and Larry Klayman and post their press releases because I believe in their quest for the truth, regardless of parisan preference.

"You must be a close relative of Klayman to continue defending him on a conservative forum."

I don't know why everyone seems to think that I am either related to Klayman or know him, that assumption is simply ridiculous. I find it hard to believe that I constantly have to defend Larry, a fellow conservative, on a conservative forum. I just believe in what he stands for.

Excuse me, Rebeckie, but if I remember correctly you were born long after Robert Kennedy was assassinated. You have no personal knowledge of those times, and you are simply parroting Larry Klayman's news release.

In 1968 I was living in West Berlin as an Air Force wife, pregnant with my son. The Viet Nam War was in full swing, there were troops in the streets of DC, riots on almost all campuses, and the cities of Europe were in turmoil. The democrats were about to nominate Hubert Humprhrey, who had supported Lyndon Johnson's conduct of the war.

Robert F. Kennedy, only 5 years removed from his brother's assassination, stepped forward to make a run for the presidency. Was he a less than perfect person? Certainly. However, in those times, no one knew about any of this...they only knew that the brother of the slain president was running. It was electrifying, and I firmly believe he would have won the nomination if he hadn't been slain, and would no doubt have won the presidency as well. When the news of his assassination reached Berlin, the street in fron of my apartment, Martin Luther Strasse, filled with a hundred thousand people marching to John F. Kennedy Platz, tears streaming down their faces.

Now, years later, we know that he wasn't the golden boy the press portrayed. But the general public, particularly those my age, do not remember anything about him except a promise that was never fulfilled. Bill O'Reilly lists him as his most admired politician.

Now, given this background, and understanding that President Bush is my age, NOT yours, I can full well understand why he would grant this favor to pathetic Ted Kennedy, who has never fulfilled the promise of the Kennedy dream. It is a kindness to an old man, it does no one any harm, and if some people choose to admire the mythical version of Robert Kennedy, well, there are worse things.

Perhaps you will now understand why President Bush is doing this, and why Larry's rant is without merit and in fact is ludicrous.

What in the world did I say about your personality? That deport was confusing you with FACTS? That they don't teach research any more at college?

If you are an investigative journalism major, I suggest you use those skills outside the classroom. This is a press release and complaint without merit. President Bush can name the Justice Department for Barney the Dinosaur, for all that it matters in the scheme of things. And he would have that right as President of the United States.

Oh, yeah, and I guess that I forgot that you were the type to parrot the "I'm older and wiser than you, therefore in the world according to myself, my opinion supercedes yours." Glad to see that you understand the psyche behind George W. Bush's political moves and his mode of compassionate capitulation. Well, I guess we can all say that the world is now a better place because in the world of FreeRepublic, everyone is older and wiser than the stupid college student.

Not to worry. It's amazing how time seems to change a person's perspective. I suspect when she has double her age and looks back at things she'll view them with a different meaning. I remember how things changed in my life. It's a part of growing up and maturing.
