Al Qaeda's global threat: An army of 'sleeper' agents make bin Laden's capture moot
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | November 18, 2001 | Simon Reeve

London -- As war raged around him in the hills of Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden fell into a deep sleep, oblivious to bullets whistling overhead. When he woke several hours later, ready to battle against the Soviet invaders, the enemy had completely vanished. "Perhaps they could not see me," bin Laden later told supporters. "There were other times when missiles and bombs came close but did not harm me. These attacks removed my fear of death."

..."it will not be the end of America's "war on terrorism".

In fact, it could be just the beginning."

No sh*t! George Bush said those words weeks ago and these geniuses are now uttering it like they've discovered the fact for themselves. Also, notice how they put "war on terrorism" in quotes, like they don't believe it. Like it's just a slogan invented by GWB to fool us.

Oh yeah, the capture of Osama Bin Laden is not moot. They are morons to believe that, assuming they really do.

"They can arrest some people here (and) there, but they cannot stop us," says Ali, a faint smile crossing his face. "We are gathering strength, becoming an unstoppable force. We are a whirlwind against America

When militant Muslims have the force to attack and kill they do. They attacked our embassies when they had the where-with-all to do it. They attacted our military ship when they had the means to to it. They attacked the WTC and the Pentagon when they had the means to do it. They sent anthrax when they had the means to do it. They gave us no warning. If they had warned us we might very well have prevented them from being successful.

When any enemy has the means and will to hurt and kill us, they always do so without warning. When they don't have the ability to do much of anything they make threats.

Meaning full threats are allways accompanied by demands for action. For Example when we told the taliban, "Turn over bin laden and his followers or we will attack!", we meant it. The object was to get teh taliban to do something. When we told Sadam to give up Kuwait or we would attack we meant it. The object was to get him to do something.

But when a person or a nation makes threats with no demands, they are bluffing. A nation or person who is actually going to attack, had no motive for giving warning. They intend to scare not attack.

Here's tomorrow's headline: "Inevitability of entropy makes everything moot."

We are a whirlwind against America.

Or perhaps a 'divine wind'? Remember what happened to those guys.....

Just another article by the leftist media which attempts to portray a victory as a defeat. Who's side are they on, anyway? I think we know the answer to that. (The enemy of my enemy is my friend...)

With each mujahideen attack the demand for vengeance will grow stronger. While 9/11 was a wake-up for America, Afghanistan is a nightmare for Islam because now its leaders (totalitarians without exception) must ask themselves the question "who is next?".

The war on terrorism is doomed to failure, unless the right people are killed, ferreted out, or disabled. We must destroy the will to fight of these people. To do that, we must terrorize them. We have begun quite well, by carrying death to their doorstep, but we must now begin to eliminate the danger within our own borders. Nearly all intelligent citizens know how this must be done. Deport all who are within our borders, who are not citizens, of the suspected group. Revoke all their visas, hunt them down, and send them back to their home countries. Seal the N and S border, so they cannot get back in on foot or car. Change US law so that a child born here to illegals, is illegal also. Send these people back to where they come from. Let back a set number of people, that file for entry, that can pass a screening, and can show a way to support themselves and their families. It is ridiculous to have a porous border, when an enemy can carry the seeds of destruction to our cities, without being noticed. The majority of the Arab terrorists, went to the illegal alien community, to acquire documents, and to blend in, while planning to kill Americans.

If we really want to end the terror attacks, find out the names of the perps of 9-11, hunt them down, kill them, their grandparents, their grandchildren, and everyone in between. When a terrorist sacrifices his life for his cause, make the price for his family death, not a hero to remember.

Terrorists are most successful in the US where neighborhoods and communities are weak and alienated. White flight and multiculturalism have left many abandoned areas warrens of foreign influence. First you give up your borders, then you give up your land, your culture, and finally the war is at your door.

The big question is whether or not we have turned a corner, or will we continue to let American values founder on the eroding beach of soverignty.

As Dick Cheney would say, Simon Reeve is a "hand-wringer". Al Qaeda and the terrorists are 10 ft tall and whatever we do is meaningless. I believe this article could be published without a change by Al Qaeda as propaganda.

Unless the root causes of what drives them are defined and addressed, hate-filled young men from across the world will continue to learn the finer points of guerrilla warfare and apply them.

of course the entire article boils down to this. it always does. what horsesh#t!

Great post, and this article is great too, not for the reasons the author believes it to be.

What I mean is that this sort of documentation gives us absolute carte blanche in terms of justifying any and all warfare against any of these guys -- regardless of where they live and what they are doing at the time.

I would like to say that such blathering by this idiot, faithfully reported by this treasonous SanFran reporter, allows us to zero in on murderous muslims worldwide, but, since that is such a peaceful religion, and I don't want to use any such insensitive blanket statements, I will refrain from saying anything of the sort.

The Islamist radicals are exactly like the Nazis, cut off the heads, and they will go back to hiding under the rocks. Remember AL QAEDA=NAZIS in every respect.

Those people who have been listening to the President and his Cabinet already knew this was going to be a lengthy war, fought in diverse ways.

Finding Bin Laden is not going to be moot. It will enforce the policies the President puts into action, other clones will know that when we identify and locate them, they and thier host country are the next target. The host countries will know and fear it too.

"An army of 'sleeper' agents make bin Laden's capture moot."

In other words, since there are more than one killer, it's pointless to go after those we've identified.
